Happy Monday! I had a fun and busy weekend, full of celebrations. I wore this black cut out shoulder top on Saturday for one of the parties.
This top has not gone on sale all summer. It sold out once but has been restocked.
We celebrated three birthdays on Friday and I wore this blue top. The birthday lunch was for my Aunt Pat, my cousin, Kelly, and me. They have July birthdays and I have an August birthday. We had lunch at my Aunt Pat’s house.
On Saturday, we had a birthday party at my house with all my family! We celebrated my birthday and the theme was black. (In case you’re wondering, I’ll be 50 on Thursday.) My family is not going to let this one go by quietly, especially my sister.
I am traveling to Georgia on Thursday to the Haven Conference so we celebrated my birthday a few days early. This conference if for DIY bloggers. I know, why am I going?? Because my sister is one of the bloggers in charge of the conference and she gets me to go every year!
Last year I spoke at one of the classes on affiliate marketing and this year I’m working with Glamour Farms. They are coming and we’re having a style show. DIY bloggers want to dress cute too, right?
It should be lots of fun! I have so many friends who are home bloggers and I love to see them.
Back to my birthday, since the theme of my birthday was black, I pulled out this black cut out shoulder top. I added a black tank from Gap under the top because it’s a little low in the front.
I wear these wedge sandals all the time. They only have a size 7 left at Nordstrom but I found them at Lord and Taylor. These are one of my favorite wedges for summer. I did order a size 7 instead of a 7 1/2 because they said they run a little big.
My necklace and bracelet are both from a small business in Lexington, Ky. called House by JSD (I couldn’t find my exact necklace and bracelet online). It was a birthday gift from my cousin and my ring is Baublebar but it’s no longer available.

What size shirt are you wearing? Looks shorter in the front on Nordstrom’s website, than the one you have on. Super cute on! .

Happy birthday, Cyndi! Turning 50 is a milestone, but you make 50 look so beautiful! Enjoy your day!
Happy Birthday, Cyndi, in advance!!! As a 56 year old, I realize it’s a privilege to get older, although I may not say that as I struggle to get up off the floor when I get down!! Thank you for helping many of us to look better and feel better about ourselves in our 50s than we did in our 30s and 40s. Blessing for the upcoming week!!
Happy Birthday, Cyndi! Age is just a number. You look great. May God bless you with another 50.
Happy Birthday Cyndi! You look fantastic. I hope you have a fun time at the conference!!
Happy Birthday Cyndi! My take on birthdays now is I love to celebrate the fact that I’m still here!

I will be turning 50 in September! I love your web site and the outfits look so good on you. The devotions always seem to be something I needed that week or day. Thank you for blessing us with them.
Happiest of Birthdays and Prayers for the best years yet ahead 🙂

Happy 50th Birthday! I turned 50 back in May. Welcome to the club! 🙂
Happy birthday, Cyndi.
Cyndi, Happy Birthday early! You look fabulous, and remember age is only a number. Because I turn 60 in October, I feel your pain about having a milestone birthday. i hope you have a wonderful time here in GA! The high is staying in the mid to upper 90’s and we’re in a rut of having a chance of thunderstorms in the evening.
God bless!
HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY CYNDI! Age is just a number, and I frankly had an easier time with 50 than I did with 40, I don’t know why but 40 was harder for me. Anyway, at 52 I’ve realized life is what you make it, and happiness is a choice. Enjoy your birthday and your conference…It can be like a big birthday party :).
50 looks lovely on you!
There is no WAY you are 50. I don’t believe you. Have so much fun at Haven!!!
I love the saying “If you’re lucky enough to get old, you should celebrate it”—-so celebrate galore Cyndi!! (and now you’re in the better age group anyways!! ha ha)
And I’m one of those that thinks the open shoulder shirts are perfect for us older women!! Love this look and happy birthday week!

I am right there with you sista! Figuratively and literally! I too turn 50 this week, but on Friday instead of Thursday! Going to NYC to celebrate AND I am planning on wearing this exact top!! Thanks so much for your blog it has truly helped my style and now knowing we are the same age I know it’s age appropriate! Thanks again and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Happy 50th birthday, Cyndi! You look amazing! I turned 50 back in April, so I know how you feel – ha! But, I keep telling myself it’s just a number….in my mind I’m still 30.
Thank you for your daily fashion advice. I’ve done a lot of “work” on my wardrobe since I started following you.
Blessings to you as you celebrate this milestone in your life!
I wold never buy that top based on the models at the Nordstom web site. You should be modeling it for them. Very cute on you!!
Happy 50th Cyndi! You definitely don’t look it!!
Happy Birthday Cyndi! Just so you know, you are gorgeous and still look like a 30 something! Have fun at the conference!
Super cute outfit, Cyndi!
I’m going to Haven too and this is a first for me. Hope we get to meet. 🙂
