How To Get Longer Lashes

Not everyone is blessed with long eyelashes, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have them. Thanks to a rise in lash-enhancing products, you can have longer lashes and the best part—no false lashes necessary

There are lots of serums that help grow longer lashes. I decided to try an organic serum that has healthier ingredients. The brand is Organyc Eyelash & Eyebrow Growth Serum.

I also add Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes which helps with volume and thickness.

How To Get Longer Lashes

Every night after removing my makeup I use the Organyc serum. It’s easy to use and you can use it on your eyebrows too.

While my lashes are longer (it’s hard to tell in this picture but you can tell looking from the side), they are still thin and that’s why I use the Moodstruck 3D lashes.

  1. Love your lashes. I sell Younique and there’s also a lash serum too that has really helped my lashes! Great tips from you and all the posters! Thanks ladies, LGP

  2. I too was interested in serums and when I asked my hairdresser if she liked RapidLash, which she sells in her salon, she said yes and her lashes and brows were responding. I bought a tube 7 weeks ago and it took about 4 weeks to notice a difference, but my lashes are really thickening up and when I curl them and add mascara, wow, what a difference. I am impressed and would recommend. I am in love with a Maybelline Very Black Washable mascara Lash Sensational (not the waterproof). Just started the RapidLash on my brows a couple of weeks ago and I already see new hairs coming in.

  3. My daughter sells Rodan and Fields and I swear by the Lash Boost. I was skeptical at first but in 6 weeks I was seeing quite a difference in the length and now more lashes are appearing ! I am sold on Lash Boost. I really don’t care for any of the 3D lash mascaras . I honestly don’t think it makes the lashes look natural.
If any one would like any information on the Rodan and Fields lash boost, contact kwhitley.myrandf.com she will answer any questions. I love all the Rodan and Fields products ! Thanks

  4. Wow this is a popular topic ! I have tried lash food for about a month and i saw a little grow but not enough to buy more serum. Im going to but this one before I splurge and get the rodan & field. Thanks for the tip !

  5. YOur lashes look great, Cyndi! I am currently trying out Benefit “They’re Real” mascara. I like it a lot as some of the things they put in some of these fiber formula don’t agree with my contacts & make my eyes uncomfortable to say the least. This does not & make them longer & fuller. My lashes are not as thick as they once were. 🙁

  6. Rodan and Fields lash boost is AMAZING! In 5-6 weeks time, I had the longest and fullest lashes that I have ever had, even when I had to use Latisse at one time (because I had lashes falling out on one side). You apply at night after you remove your eye make up. It is truly a wonderful product. Tried and true.

Thanks for asking – it’s always good to learn from other women!

  7. I have used Rapidlash and Rapidbrow for a few years with excellent results. Each is about $40-$50 and lasts 3 months.

  8. If you love long thick lashes and care a lot about clumpiness, you might like to try Mary Kay’s Lash Primer. Then add a great mascara over it like Mary Kay’s Lash Lengthening. Put on the Lash Primer and immediately put on the Mascara. My lashes look the best they ever have! The Lash Love is fantastic about making the most of each eyelash! It is buildable so you can have a more natural look or just keep adding to pump those lashes up! Also if you are messy with mascara, all you have to do is wait 5 minutes until it dries well and flick mistakes off your skin with your fingernail😀
Be sure to start your mascara as low as possible to the base of your lashes and wiggle your way up. It is also very important to remove your mascara nightly with a good remover that does not require you to rub excessively.

A less expensive drug store option is L’oreal’s Waterproof Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara. It’s GREAT!!!

PS. If you decide to get Mary Kay make sure your consultant will honor their money back guarantee…that way it’s a win win proposition.

  9. Boy, this is a popular topic and so glad you share this with us. I am in my fifties and have a thyroid issue but I have always had short eyelashes I think I’ve tried every mascara out there and hated the time it took to do my makeup BUT it’s the one thing I can’t go without! So, recently I tried Amasing Lash Studio and had lash extensions applied. It took awhile but the results was amazing and very natural. But just like nails, you have to go back in for fills once a month and it was about $50’per visit. Plus I started picking at the glue and pulled some of my own lashes out 😩 Not good!
Although it was a great time saver, I’ve decided to give it a break and just use Castro Oil on my lids and my lashes have started growing again. But I will definitely be trying Organyc. Thank you everyone for sharing some other options

  10. Wow be careful using oils around eyes
Śo easy to get an infection !
Also I would be nervous about hving
    To cut my lashes!
For me neutrogena lash does the trick!
    Prayers Janet

  11. Organyc Eyelash has a great price. I am currently using Revitalash but have also used RapidLash. Both gave me good results just think my lashes get used to the formula so I switch it up. Will definitely try this next!

  12. With the Moodstruck 3 D Lashes, did you have any problems with flaking on your cheeks? I tried one that looked great, but very flaky and I looked like a raccoon by the end of the day

    1. I agree with Melesa. I too get fibers falling on my face, but for me it is through out the day. I apply the gel before and after, but still have flaking.

  13. While my lashes have always been an ok length I purchased Rapidlash eyebrow/eyelash serum hoping to stimulate growth for my thinning eyebrows–I tried a multitude of treatments from Vaseline, black castor oil, coconut oil, all with no noticeable improvement , the Rapidlash didn’t seem to help me with eyebrow growth either. ☹️ I eventually decided to have my brows microbladded so they are no longer an issue. 😃
BUT, since I had the Rapidlash I started using it for my eyelashes and have had wonderful success with it. My eyelashes now skim the bottom edge of my eyebrows which is great if I decide against makeup any given day. Even my (new) hair stylist has commented on e length of my lashes. I use L’Oreal Double Extend Beauty Tubes Mascara which is great as it forms a tube around each lash so removal is easy and doesn’t require rubbing the eye area. Removal is accomplished by wetting each eye with water and after about 30 seconds simply sliding the tubes off with a pinch of your fingers. 👍🏻

  14. I have a friend who sells Rodan & Fields & she has been using the Lash Boost. It truly does work – her lashes are about twice as long & thick as before! BUT…it is VERY expensive. I think it is $195 a tube. Way too pricy for me! But glad yours are growing! Mine are SO thin & short! Mascara is my friend!

    1. Yes, Rodan and Fields does carry Lash Boost which is amazing. I’m a consultant and it sells for $135 as a preferred customer. This is a two month supply of the product. It has a 60 day money back guarantee if you are not happy with the product for any reason. I’ve never had a customer send it back. It provides amazing results.

  15. Your lashes look great! Being a single mom of two kids in college and still living at home, I’m lucky to get the free mascara that’s in the Clinique Bonus Buy. Ha!

Hope you have a wonderful day!

    Patricia

  16. Hi Cindy, I also have thin eyelashes, I add one drop of good quality lavender essential oil to my mascara and woot woot, it helps make your eyelashes grow, I read it in an article and very happy with the results. God bless you.

  17. I am using Revitabrow. My eyebrows from the center to the outside were basically nonexistent. I started using it in January, applying it 1-2 times per day. Already my eyebrows are coming back. I am very pleased so far.

Thank you Cyndi for posting this, and I appreciate all the gals you are commenting on their own trials.

  18. I’ve never use the products to help grow lashes, as afraid of side affects and my lashes falling out. I just use a good mascara and call it good. 🙂 My lashes aren’t thinning, only my eye brows. God has always been there for me and faithful to give me what I need at the time I need it. 🙂 I’m doing a bible study now with ladies by Pricilla Shirer “Armor of God. ” Its wonderful. I’ve studied the Armor before, but not like she does it. I highly recommend it. If you can’t get in a study that provides the video’s to go with, it can easily be done without or you can download the videos on your computer. I’m loving it. 🙂 Blessings.

  19. Yesterday and today have been such good days for me as I have seen God work in wondrous ways! He is very faithful. I just need to be MORE faithful myself in trusting Him. Thanks for sharing!!!

  20. I am using the Rodan & Fields LashBoost and just absolutely love it as well as the rest of their products. I am also a fan of Younique’s 3D mascara

  21. Hi Cyndi,
I have been using individual false lashes for a while and I love them! I was so intimidated to try them at first because I thought they’d take forever to apply but I can apply them in the same amount of time that it takes me to apply mascara. I use Ardell individual, knot-free lashes and Duo glue in the gray color.
I apply the lashes in my lash line and they become invisible. My own lashes have always been short but thick. Now, at the age of 47, I find that they are thinner.
People often ask me about my lashes and can’t believe that they are false. And, because there is no strip like with strip lashes, I don’t have to use heavy eye liner. I can wear minimal make-up and just have the appearance of long, thick, young-looking lashes.
I don’t use permanent glues that require a remover because the chemicals made my eyes water and removing them wasn’t easy and I feared damage to my natural lashes.
The glue I use is “water-proof” but comes off very easily with eye make-up remover and does not damage my natural lashes. I have even noticed that my own lashes are growing longer because I’m not curling them each day which may have been causing some damage.

  22. I have to laugh, every time I’m thinking about something , whether it be essential oils or eye lashes. Next thing you have a post on it and I get my question answered. 👏😬

  23. I do think longer, thicker lashes give a more youthfull appearance. I’m willing to try this Organyc product. I work with several R&D consultants, and many have suggested their product, which I haven’t tried but may after all the comments here. I still use Latisse, and have been pleased with it. Typically only use about 2-3 times/week now just to maintain my lashes. I’ve not had any side effects from it so I’ve been happy.

    1. Genetics and age are typically the cause. Dermatologist suggested I use Rogaine applied with a Qtip (according to manufacturer’s instructions) at night. If it doesn’t help re-growth, nothing will. However, with continued use it will prevent further hair loss. Would recommend seeing a board certified dermatologist.

    2. Hi Lindy! Yes!!!! Cyndi and I are market partners with Monat Global. Our products are naturally based and promote hair growth. I have personally experienced new hair growth with regular use of our products. I would recommend the LET IT GROW system for someone with thinning hair. Typically people notice a significant decrease in hair loss in just two weeks. After two or three months of use you will start noticing new hair growth. I am certain our products can help you!

    3. Hi! I just read your comment and think that you should try Monat! They are clinically proven to regrow hair and it’s naturally based! There’s also a 30 day moneyback guarantee! Monat offers anti-aging hair care products that are naturally based, gluten free, and vegan! They can transform your hair after ONE wash!!! They help people to have FULLER, HEALTHIER, SHINIER hair! The products even allow people to re-grow their hair after hair loss or thinning! My boyfriend is using this and even after two weeks, the growth was noticeable! If interested, go here and click shop to learn all about the products: http://jaimelynne4.mymonat.com/

My recommendation for thinning hair/wanting to regrow is the IRT or Black systems!

  24. HI Cyndi,
I recently started applying Vaseline at bedtime, because I am on a limited budget and I also do not like to use chemicals when I can avoid it. It is actually working slowly. I can see a difference. I also use baby powder to help thicken my lashes when applying mascara. I apply the first coat to the first eye and while the mascara is still wet, I take a Qtip dipped in baby powder and dab it onmy lashes. I of course do this for each eye and then when it is dry I apply the second coat of mascara. It is very helpful. Thanks for the tip on the serum you use. God bless.

  25. I tried Babe Lash and got several styes…
Not sure if that’s what caused it, but threw it away and all other eye makeup anxious to try one of the beans mentioned here, as I also have very thin and blonde eyelashes

  26. This post is so timely. This issue bugs me every morning while I am getting ready for the day. I used to have nice length lashes. I am 47 and over the past two years they have gotten thinner and sparser and shorter. I asked my Mom and she said oh, are you losing the hair on your arms and legs too like your Grandmother and me? I had no idea this happened as you got older! I don’t wear a ton of make up and honestly like to go without if I can but with my lashes like this, it looks like I have hollow eyes. I have to wear mascara or I get comments that I look exhausted and sick.
Anyway, it stinks – especially when I was happy before. I have considered the Rodan and Fields Lash Boost but it is pricey. I would try these products you’ve used but only if they actually work. thanks for the reviews.

    1. I have used at least 5 other eyelash serums, nothing worked 🙁 Full disclosure, I am a RandF Consultant..:) Lash Boost is BY FAR the best I have used!! I have now had to TRIM my upper lashes once. I have moved from Black Mascara to Black/Brown because Black made my Lashes TOO dark and long looking 🙂 The cost of $135 may be higher than some others but it works. It is also super simple! It is applied one time a day to upper lash line and can also be used on Eyebrows 🙂 Its worth a try and comes with a 60 day money back guarantee 🙂 If you are interested, I would love to help. 🙂 angelaarce.myrandf.com

  27. Hi Cyndi! When I read your post this morning I just had to mention that MONAT recently introduced an eyelash/eyebrow product called EYE WONDER. It will be available for purchase mid March. I was able to get my hands on some at our recent convention and I have to say so far I am very impressed. Not only are my eyelashes longer but they are getting thicker as well!!! Yay!!! The best part is it’s naturally based! Be careful ladies there are a lot of products out there with some pretty nasty side effects. I don’t remember the exact cost of EYE WONDER but I remember thinking it was very reasonably priced.

  28. I have been using Rodan and Fields lash serum for about a month. I have seen a difference in the softness and thickness of my lashes, and have started seeing increased length in the last few days. I have also used some on my brows and am seeing new growth there as well While not organic, i do believe its not quite as harsh as the perscription ones. I’m loving it and am very pleased with my results. I use benefit “Yes theyre real” mascara and love it. I have tried several other, but always go back to that one. Your lashes look beautiful. I may have to give your mascara a try next time around. Thanks for sharing!!!

    1. Hi Bonnie! 4 weeks is when I could first start seeing a difference in my lashes with the Lash Boost and by 8 weeks I could see a huge change and it’s still continued after that. My husband who is Mr. Skeptical is even amazed by my lashes.

  29. Did you know Sunday was National Eyelash Day? LOL…There’s a day for everything. Your timing is perfect. 😉
I’ve been using the Rodan + Fields Lash Boost since late October and OH MY WORD!!! This stuff is amazing!!! I was the poster child for pitiful lashes. At the risk of sounding like an infomercial Lash Boost thickens, darkens and lengthens your lashes and can also be used on your brows. I do happen to be a consultant for Rodan + Fields, but even if I wasn’t I’d still be singing the praises of this product. I talked about it in one of my posts last week. (http://bit.ly/2m88eGz) You should give it a try when you finish your current product. Have a great day!!!

  30. As a former chemo patient, Ive used them all, the ones that require prescriptions etc. but Rodan + Fields Lash Boost has not only made mine Longer looking and darker looking but FULLER looking which no other brand did. It truly is a great product.I’m happy to share my pics with anyone interested. pammason.myrandf.com

    1. Thank you! I have been looking for a review from someone that had chemo. I lost my lashes from chemo and they came back thin and short. Unfortunately the cost of R&F is too much for me right now with deductibles and co-pays.

  31. Hi Cyndi! I’m over 50 also & had short thinning lashes. Rodan & Fields to the rescue for me! I’ve been using it for about 9 weeks now on my lashes & eye brows. One swipe each night & that’s it. If you’re interested in any more information please email me at abby.lones@gmail.com 😉

  32. I have not tried any eyelash serums but my lashes have gotten so thin – it’s crazy. I would love to give this a shot and see if it works!! Thanks for the tip.

  33. Have you tried Rodan & Fields Lash Boost? I am 67 years old and LOVE it! And, I even use it on my eyebrows!! Contact my daughter-in-law, Nicole Smith if you’re interested! – nrc814@gmail.com

  34. I am anxious to try this! I am over 50 (actually a young 61) and my lashes aren’t as long or thick as I’d like. I have been using a lash extender and I like the Jane Iredale mascara. BUT, I am all about organic so I am going to try this serum! I tried a mascara/serum product from a popular direct sales company and could just not wear it. So this sounds great!
**He is faithful! (even when I am not)

  35. Hi Cyndi..i believe you are using Moodstruck 3D mascara by Younique right? Your post refers to Moonstruck..just checking for clarification..by the way, love that mascara!
Thanks and have a wonderful day!!

  36. Good morning, I love long lashes and get the lash extensions. I have tried the 3D fiber and to me it makes the lashes so clumpy looking. I have a friend that uses Vaseline and she lives by it that has the best lashes. They are soft and long. Maybe she is born with it but they are very pretty and I hate her for it LOL!!.

    1. Hi Barbara, I too use Vaseline on my eyelashes every night before going to sleep. My eyelashes are soft and long as well. I started using Vaseline around my eyes during allergy season to keep my eyelids from becoming sticky while I slept. That’s when I discovered how soft and pretty my eyelashes had become. I’ve been doing this for several years now.

    2. Barbara, I think Cyndi’s lashes in the second picture look a little clumpy – is this what you’re talking about – this is the 3D fiber?
