Happy Hump Day! This has been one of those weeks where What I Wore has struggled! I’ve been trying to mix and match pieces in my closet and sometimes it just doesn’t work. Have you been there?
I tried my hardest NOT to pull out my chambray shirt this week (I wear it all the time!) but this outfit needed the chambray!
Off white sweater – Kohl’s Chambray shirt – JC Penneys Brown pants – Target Riding boots – Amazon Knot bracelet – Brinkle jewelry Green blouse – Old Navy Turquoise necklace – Groopdealz Gold bracelet – JC Penneys Turquoise & Gold bracelet – Brinkle jewelry Skinny Jeans – TJ Maxx Brown boots – Marshall’sThis next dress I’ve worn in the summer without the turtleneck and black boots, and to be honest, I didn’t like it and have thought about giving it to Goodwill. I decided to winterize it and I added a touch of yellow with the belt. I might keep it!
Black turtleneck – Kohl’s Graphic dress – Macy’s (I’ve had for several years) Black boots – Target Yellow belt – Target Gold chain bracelet – Groopdealz
I’m trying to pull color in to all my outfits. The weather is gray enough around here and I need color!
Do you have a summer dress you could winterize by adding a turtleneck or cardigan?
Beauty For the Heart~~One of my readers sent me this quote and I love it. “People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within.” – Elizabeth Kübler-Ross How true!
Have a blessed day!

I am wondering where you found the Proverbs 3:5-6 canvas wall hanging that is behind you in one of you picturs? I have looked on Dayspring and they don’t have it…would love to buy one just like it.
Thanks! 🙂
I love your sense of style! I need to find a chambray shirt, because there are so many ways to wear it. I recently bought a few necklaces like your turquoise necklace from Groopdealz. It is one of my new favorite pieces to wear.
Great outfits, Cyndi — amazing how versatile that chambray shirt is! Keep the newly winterized dress — you’ve inspired me to look in my closet now. 🙂

You look terrific in that green blouse!!! That is YOUR color! Love all of the outfits you pulled together, so fresh looking. I have a cotton, ankle length broomstick skirt that I bought for summer and early fall. It has a kind of black, rust and dark teal tribal pattern. I can wear it now with a black rib knit turtleneck, a black cardiand a teal scarf that matches the color in the skirt. I wear it with some black tights and black clogs. My daughter put the outfit together in the summer with t-shirts, scarves and sandals and then re-worked it into a winter look for me. I say this lest you think I’ve learned how to shop or coordinate outfits, an area in which you know, I missed the gene pool!
This is the time of year when I get bored with my winter clothes. This week I have worn black too, too much so I plan to color it up a bit over the next month…red, wine, royal blue, purple. To save $$$ I will “shop” in my closet.
I enjoy your blog, Cyndi.

I have that sweater in the first picture…..but think I might need to go buy that chambray shirt….that looks great together!
Hi Cyndi.
I love the way you “winterized” your dress! Keep that dress. Those mod looking prints and black/white is so in for Spring! You will wish you had it back if you part with it. It looks beautiful on you. I think you would look awesome in the Spring/Summer pairing it with some white capri length leggings and that great yellow belt.
Hope the rest of your week is amazing.

Cindy I love the dress! Keep it! That is a great idea. I always wish I had more of a jumper type dress for winter. I have a denim and a khaki knee length skirts that I can wear with a sweater and tights in the winter or with sandals and a spring top in the spring/summer. Love those pieces that can be worn all year long.
love the classic layering of that first look! all 3 are so stylish 🙂

You look adorable in the winterization of that graphic black dress. The yellow belt MAKES IT! Winterization: what a great idea!
Love the Casual Look with boots and skinnies, Fabulous green top!

You beautiful girl! You look awesome. 🙂
I would never in a million years have thought to “winterize” a summer dress like this. Oh, my goodness! This is brilliant!
Thank you for everything you do so well. Love you!
I love that graphic dress! I’m actually wearing a summery dress today with a black turtleneck – I’m so glad I can wear my spring-y items in the winter!
I need to get to Target for those brown pants, I only have two that fit at the moment and have said i will not buy more, but those are cute. The b/w is right on trend and I like how you added colour and defined your waist all at the same time. CTD
I used a summer dress as a skirt to fight the grey winter on my blog today. Have you seen the runways for Fall 2013, they are so lacking in color it is frightening. There is a lot of neutrals.
I love everything about this outfit! So gorgeous!
I love your green blouse! Such a pretty color on you.
The dress looks fabulous too. You always look very nice and polished.
