Spring 2014 Hairstyle Trends

I always love to look at hairstyle trends. Not that I’m going to do anything drastic but I like to see what trends are coming our way. There are some crazy ones but here are the Spring 2014 Hairstyle Trends that I like.

2014 Hair Style Trends

The pixie cut seems to still be a hot trend. I love it but I can’t imagine having my hair this short. These women wear it well.

The bob haircut still seems to be showing up everywhere. I love the asymmetrical bob and the wavy bob. Both of these styles would look great on women over 40.

The deep side part is very trendy. I love this look and it has a softening effect on women over 40 so I think this is a great style.

Loose waves are popular and are perfect if you have longer hair.

Other trends are the very low pony tail, braids, stick straight hair, soft up dos and the greasy look (Ugh!).

A change of seasons always seems to make me want to change my hair. Are you in the mood for a change with your hair?

  1. Currently I have a bob that is shorter in the back and that I use a flat iron on. I am headed in (pun intended) this week to get an upgrade…a little color and an asymmetrical cut on the front (sides). I will also be asking about ways to highlight the natural wave my hair has. Thanks for sharing this post. 🙂

  2. I love the pixie – on other people. I’m trying to get the courage to cut some bangs. I have a screen shot of your hair for my hairdresser! My husband likes long hair (we’re from THAT generation!) but he’s not going to win ! I think your hair style is great – a right mix of trend and polish for our age set.

  3. I have short hair and love it – so easy, and great in the summer months. I’m half tempted to go even shorter after watching season 2 of House of Cards. Have you seen Robin Wright’s hair in that series? LOVE it! Such a classy look on her.

  4. Since my hair is long and i have natural waves…I guess I am stuck for now. But I did add a little frosting when I started seeing more grey hair then I wanted to see.LOL 😉
Love’n your blog…Keep up the great work!

  5. I used to wear my hair as short as the two short haircut models (similar to Halle Berry) and I loved it! My face is shaped similar to yours and I know you could pull it off! It is a super fun cut and so easy! Blessings! 🙂

  6. I am thinking of cutting my hair short, as in pixie. I will most likely opt for a length like Anne Hathaway’s. I love Charlize Theron’s, but I have more wrinkles than her and don’t want them to be staring at everyone! LOL If I don’t go super short, I’m going lighter again. I’ve been blonde a few times in my life, and I’m giving it some thought again. Change is good…most of the time. 🙂

Thanks for sharing. I hope you have a great week.

  7. I went drastic with a very short haircut last night, getting a headstart on my summer do!!! I also went with a lighter shade of red and lots of blonde highlights. And I’m “WAY OVER” 40. My hair is as short as the blonde pixie above, but my bangs are a little longer and I love it.
