What I Wore-Jude Connally Dress

For quite some time, I have wanted to purchase a Jude Connally dress. I have heard such good things about them so I decided to wear one to the Rewardstyle conference.

This particular style is the Megan dress. I love that it has sleeves because I usually get chilly at conferences. I bought this dress and my jewelry locally from the Cotton Patch in Lexington. They have such cute clothes and they are super helpful!

My wedge heels are from Rack Room Shoes. I wore them all day and they never hurt my feet. I love these wedges!

This dress is great for traveling because you can put it in your suitcase and just pull it out. It doesn’t wrinkle!

Have you tried a Jude Connally dress??

  1. I love the dress and shoes! They both look fantastic on you. I’ve never tried one of her dresses but I think I might now! 😉

  2. well basic styles either stay or they come back. I made this dress when much younger and it was in red and white also. ( interestingly enough red rarely makes an appearance in my wardrobe) any of the ladies not wishing to have the expense of readymade might like to give it a try. very easy to make.
    you look great as always

  3. Hi Cyndi, Enjoy both your fashion ideas and inspiration each day. Dress is beautiful and looks great on you! I am also one for comfort and wrinkle free. Just wondered about the sunless tanning lotion. Does it also come in a light or ivory. As you know, I am very very ivory, but want something just to give my legs a little more even color. Do you put the tanner only on your legs?

    1. Hey Kay!!
The tanning serum only comes in medium and it would be too dark for you.
I think Bare Mineral’s Faux tan might be a better one for you http://rstyle.me/~54UVY
I tried it and like it but it’s not dark enough for me. Sephora carries it and I think they have a sample bottle in the store to try.
      Hope that helps!!!
Hugs to you and your family,
      Cyndi

  4. Hi, Cyndi!
Gorgeous dress and it looks great on you. I’ll have to pick up that L’Oreal self tanner to try. I have tried more expensive brands and have heard that this affordable option is just as good. I’m hoping to do a post about self-tanner soon. I have been switching between Bare Escentuals’ Faux Tan and Tan Towels at the moment. I like both, but they can get pricey. Hoping I like the L’Oreal one!

  5. Yikes! I hope it’s not too short. How tall are you Cyndi? I’m 5’8″ with longer legs….you ordered a medium? I did as well. Maybe I could let the hem out a bit…..

    1. Thank you Cyndi! I’m not really a flats kind of girl but if it looks too short, easy to return it on Amazon ?. Since you are so familiar with the brand, would love to know if there are similar styles that may be a little longer?? Loving that I ran across your blog! Just picked up the Urban Decay Nakeds (mostly mattes) eye shadows today….not too glittery for us 40 us gals…?

  6. The dress looks great on you Cyndi. Have you checked out Katherine Way? Her dresses are very comfortable and easy to wear and are perfect for traveling as well. Plus they are all made in the US. I just discovered her last year and was very impressed with the quality, etc.

  7. Hi Cyndi, Enjoy your blog. Look forward each day to checking out the style idea for the day and inspiration. I also had the same question about the self tanner. Does that brand come in a light. As you know, I am very very ivory and just want something to give a little color to my legs without looking orange. Do you apply the tanner only to your legs?
Hope you and Wayne had a great time in Dallas. Sara and I head there every summer for Mary Kay conference. Beautiful town, but very hot in July!

  8. I love the dress, however it is too short for me. I have very long legs and try to keep my dresses at or just above the knee cap. Maybe they will make some a bit longer.

  9. Love the Jude Connally dress! Thank you for introducing me to the brand, I had not seen it before. And I love your styling of the outfit, including the very on trend necklace! I may have to try one the Jude Connally dresses and hope I can carry off the shorter length for certain occasions. Blessings.

  10. This dress is super cute and looks great on you, Cyndi! I love the wedges with it too.
Don’t know about the necklace with it, though. The pattern is so busy, it’s getting lost. I think earrings and the bracelets would be the only jewelry I’d wear with it-just my opinion. I think we all deserve a splurge, wink!

  11. Hi Cyndi,
Love the dress and it looks great on you. My question is regarding your nice tan legs. Do you use a self tanner and if so, which one do you use? I have tried a number of them, both from the drug store and also more expensive ones from the department stores and have not found one I like. Any ideas?

    1. Hi Jan, not meaning to cut Cyndi off, but one of the best sunless tanners I have recently used, is Jergens Instant Sun. It’s a mousse that spreads quickly and evenly. Exfoliating before you apply is key! I also use a tanning mitt that I picked up from Ulta to apply. It’s instant color, no waiting and you can see where you’re putting it.

      1. Thanks Cyndi. I’d love something more organic, and maybe without the smell. I seem to be sensitive to the fragrance they all have.

  12. Love the dress but it is too expensive. Your shoes, dress and necklace are almost $280. Ouch!. You have wonderful taste in clothes, shoes and jewelry but I can’t really afford almost $300 for one outfit but thanks for styling it for us! Not complaining just explaining! lol

    1. I totally understand Ann! I did not purchase the entire outfit at one time. Added some things that I had. But as a style blogger, I do link to the items I’m wearing if possible.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
      Blessings,
      Cyndi

  13. I have look at quite a few different styles of Judy Connally dresses. There is a retailer here in OKC that sales many styles. You are one of the first women to style one on their blog and it is super cute on you. They are somewhat pricey but do appear to be rather classic in looks, therefore staying in my closet for a long time. Please let me know if you have any complaints about the styling or fabric. I love your blog. We are about the same size and I really enjoy seeing what you style. The inspirational messages you give is very uplifting too.

  14. Hey Cyndi, love the Jude Connally dress! Looks great on you! I am already looking on the Cotton Patch website and following them on Instagram, such cute things! Glad you had a great time in Dallas 🙂

    1. Hi Pam!
I don’t usually spend that much on a dress but because it was a special occasion and I know I will get a lot of wear out the dress, I purchased it. I share lots of dresses on here that are under $50.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
      Blessings,
      Cyndi

  15. Darling dress but too short for me 🙁 If only it came to the top of my knees I’d be more comfortable! You look beautiful as always 🙂

  16. Love the dress! You look terrific in it!! I’m interested in getting one, but I’m not sure on the sizing. Did you get a small or medium? (I think we’re about the same size.)

      1. Do you mind me asking how much you weigh. I am 5′ 4″ and about 165. Thinking a med or even a large. I am in between.

  17. Wow…love the bright pattern but it is too short for most ladies! I teach school and have to raise my arms a lot. I would be in danger of exposing my undercarriage…hahaha!!!

    1. Well, it’s a little short but I am wearing 4 inch heels. It wouldn’t look as short with flat sandals but probably still too short for school.
      Blessings,
      Cyndi

    2. I’m a teacher as well (elementary). I have some dresses this length & wear them with “capri length” leggings & flats for work.

      1. I teach (high school) and do the same thing. A mid- thigh dress with Capri or even ankle length leggings is really comfortable and modest.

  18. I love this dress particularly because it has sleeves! Why so many sleeveless tops and dresses now?? I know it can be layered with a cardigan, but sometimes I just want sleeves!

    1. Hey Kim,
That’s actually not my dress. It’s the pattern of my dress but that dress in the picture is sleeveless. It’s the Lisa dress.
      It’s still a great buy!!
      Blessings,
      Cyndi

      1. ooops missed the sleeves……love the pattern. Missed the sleeves were short. Great price for someone if they are an extra small:)
