Welcome back to my 27 Days of Spring Fashion! Jo-Lynne and I are teaming up to bring you lots of spring outfits for women over 40.
Today I’m styling a spring work wear outfit from Loft. I get a lot of emails asking about work wear and if I would style some of those outfits.
I work from home but I do like to have outfits for church or other activities where I need to dress up. So, I’m going to style some of these outfits during this spring series. I have ordered some of the pants and as soon as I get them, I’ll share them with you!
I like lightweight sweaters this time of year because it’s still cool. This sweater has some detail at the top and I added a blue tank under it because I didn’t want to show my bra straps.
This blue sweater would look great with white jeans too!
I like to add a heel to my outfits and these are comfortable (which is why they are a little more expensive) but you can add a flat shoe, a sandal or a wedge.
These pants are the Julie Fit from Loft. They are a perfect pant for those of us who have a smaller waist but our hips are curvier.
These are a cropped pant. These work because they still hit at the smaller part of my leg. This is as high as I’m willing to go.

I just came across your blog while looking for church outfits. Can you please do church outfits appropriate for the warmer weather and not skirt suits and hats either.

Hi Cyndi, Very cute outfit… I love printed pants, just worked in my closet bringing out my Spring / Summer clothes and taking notes on the items I’ll need .. also got out my special printed pair of pants that I love wearing in the Spring. I take my hubby to the VA for needle injections in his eye, tomorrow, so I’m glad you posted these cute printed pants today… I will be doing a little shopping on Sir Barton Way in Lexington after his appointment, and The Loft is always a favorite of mine to stop at. Super cute outfit! I dress for work each day and I can say I would wear the pants during the spring/summer but the top has a much more casual look then I would wear in the office. I am loving your spring series!

This looks comfy and work appropriate, and would be “dressed-up” for most at my church (Faith Promise Church-Knoxville, TN). We have a “come as you are” environment and some folks really push the external appearance – sure glad God knows the heart :). Loving all the spring looks so far and wishing for warmer temps here – although I need to do some shopping.

Great outfit, love it! This is a nice casual outfit to wear to work or church. Since I work from home a lot, I tend to wear skinny jeans and leggings with either a nice shirt or other relaxed topper real laid back. But I feel a little disrespectful when wearing my fitted skinnies to church. Your outfit Today would still be comfortable, not dowdy but still respectful. Remember the days of hats, gloves and dresses? Haha times change.

I had to chuckle when I saw this picture. My husband and I were at the mall yesterday and walked through Loft. I walked over to those pants and picked up the leg and said “these are cute”. I think we’d make excellent shopping buddies, Cyndi 😉
Any chance you think those shoes run a little narrow? I have a really hard time finding shoes because I have narrow feet…of all the things God could have given me skinny it had to be my feet, wrists, and neck. What about my THIGHS??? lol

Cyndi, This is such a pretty outfit! I’m really glad that you shared the information on the pants because I have trouble finding pants that fit my waist and hips. I noticed that Loft has an on-line only discount for that style pants, so I am going to order a pair.
I really like your Beauty for the Heart today! As my mom’s dementia is worsening I’ve got to rely on my faith to cope instead of worrying. And our son & daughter in-law are trying to buy a new house, so I’m encouraging her not to worry because He is in control.

So glad you found some goodies at Loft! 🙂 For us short gals, Loft has a few patterns and solids in these crops! The reg length will end up more of an ankle and too baggie at the bottom.

Love this! Last year I bought several pants (4 pair ha) in this same style and fit from Loft… I was careful with them and sent them out to be cleaned. I’ve already started wearing them this year on warm days. I still love them and they look like brand new. I think I may need this pattern too😊. I don’t wear shorts so these pants take the place of those in the summer for me, so they are great to dress up or down! Thank you , Cyndi! Blessings, Krista

Lovely outfit today Cyndi! As we head into spring/summer, I’d love for you to suggest a slip for all these lightweight, unlined dresses and skirts I’m seeing. I haven’t worn one since I was a child, but definitely feel the need now with these thin dresses! Do you recommend one? Have you tried the Commando from Nordstrom? Thanks!
Misty I don’t wear slips. If it’s see through, I don’t typical buy it. I don’t like worrying with a slip.
