This summer, the embroidered trend is going strong. They have embroidered tops, embroidered shorts, embroidered jeans, embroidered shoes, and even embroidered handbags.
Today I’m styling an embroidered top from Loft that can can be worn off or on the shoulder.
My fray hem denim shorts are Kut from the Kloth brand. They are comfy and run true to size.
Nothing says summer like a pom pom clutch. Perfect for vacation or for a date night accessory.
We got caught in a rain storm so this photo shoot was cut short!

Cyndi, I bought this red and white stripped dress and went to Google to hunt some white leggings to go under it and guess who was the first and only picture on the “images” ? YOU, in a beautiful red and white dress with white leggings!!! Woo-Hoo, I know I’m on the right idea with my outfit… even going to pair it with wedged low heels. I’m older, so not a big fan of off-the-shoulder tops. Seems that some are optional, could be worn as a regular (albeit bigger neck) top. I’d love to see such tops styled both ways.
Love the top Cyndi! I want to share a personal story with you regarding laughter. This is a second marriage for Larry and me. We had a small family wedding in the chapel of the church I belonged too. The plan was for Larry to walk half way down the aisle to meet me. I told him that he would have to do something to make me laugh because I was afraid I would cry and didn’t want too. So, as Larry is walking down to meet me, he pulled open his tux jacket to show me a name tag that said, HI! MY NAME IS LARRY. Yes, I cracked up laughing and he still has me laughing.

Thank you! Yes, it is. While I have always enjoyed life, I was too serious so Larry has really helped me over the past 23 years to lighten up. I do love to smile, so I now make a more conscious effort to share a smile.

Cyndi, I’ve been following you for a while and I definitely see a change in your style. Though you have a nice figure I’m wondering if some styles are actually something you would wear or if you only style them for the blog. I am also your age but I find the off the shoulder, short shorts and some of the shorter dresses too flirty. I’m not meaning to sound judgemental, but in your position as a pastor’s wife I’d like to hear your honest opinion.
I agree, I am 40 and a pastors wife and would love to see more palazzo style pants, maybe some linen? I love the classy look of a wide leg pant. Although I know 40 is not very old, I do feel more pressure to dress modest and age appropriate being a pastors wife.
Hi Sheri, If I style something on my blog then I would wear it in real life. A lot of the outfits I’m styling in my summer fashion series are outfits I would wear on vacation, on a date, or even at a family event. For me personally, I wouldn’t wear this outfit if I were going to the grocery or spending the day shopping by myself. I also wouldn’t wear it to church but I wouldn’t wear a bathing suit to church either.
I think each of us have convictions that we should stand by. My convictions may or may not be the same as your convictions but I certainly respect your convictions.

Cute outfit! Do you find that the shorts gap in the back? I have seen some reviews that say they do……..
I pull them down a little so they don’t gap and it does make them a little longer which I prefer.

I love the top. It is our last night on vacation and I have been awake almost all night due to rude hotel neighbors. I am laughing since now I am happy we are heading home tomorrow. I needed to put life in perspective.
I was in Loft on Sunday to return a few things ant the sales associate was wearing this top. It looked so cute on her (and you).

I bought a shirt like this last year but ended up giving it to my mom (the 70+ model on my blog)!! She won’t wear it off the shoulder though, but it’s still such a summery piece!!
