Life Lately Behind the Blog

Happy Monday! We are beginning the week with some warm weather, and I’m thankful to get a break from the cold. I know we still have more cold weather left before spring, but I’m going to soak up the warmth while I can.

I thought I would do a post on what I’ve been up to behind the blog lately. I’ve shared some of this over on Instastories, but I get a lot of emails and questions, so I thought it was time to update.

First, several of you have asked about our daughter and her pregnancy. Courtney is expecting a little girl in May. She is having a c-section on May 25th (Memorial weekend). We are all excited and can’t wait to meet this precious baby girl.

Next up, we are in the process of house hunting. I get quite a few questions about our moving since we purchased a house a couple of years ago.

Early in 2017, Wayne resigned as pastor. It has been a transition for us, and at this time, he has a secular job, and we are living in an apartment to be close to his work.

Our house is under contract, and as soon as the sale is final, we are planning on purchasing a new home. It’s been fun looking at houses again, and I’m anxious to find a place, but it’s all in God’s timing. I’m trying to be patient and enjoy the process.

Here are some pictures of the houses we have looked at recently. This home had an outdoor fireplace. I love it!

I love the glass details in this house.

This front door is gorgeous!

This picture is a little blurry, but I loved this kitchen.

Another gorgeous front door.

Pretty white bathroom.

I love looking at homes! It’s fun to see different styles, and I know we’ll find one we like soon.

Thank you for taking time out of your day to stop by my blog. I’m on FacebookPinterest, and my favorite one, Instagram.

Beauty for the Heart~~God’s plans for you are bigger than whatever is stressing you out. @trustgodbro

  1. Those houses all look so pretty! Bet you’ll have a hard time deciding! Hope y’all have a relatively stress free move, it’s always a pain, isn’t it? Also so excited to hear that Courtney is having a baby girl! How fun! Hope everything goes well for her and the baby!

  2. Prayers with y’all during this transition time. Change can be hard but I have a feeling you will be just fine. 😘

  3. Cyndi, thanks for sharing some details of your personal life. So happy that you have a new grandbaby to look forward to very soon. What fun that will be. I also love looking at homes and went through this process about 6 years ago. I looked for 4 months before finding just the right house, and knew it was “home” the minute I walked in. You to will find just the right house, trust in God’s plan and timing.
    Blessings

  4. We, too, are in transition here in Lexington. Our house closes on March 15, and we have bought another place that is getting a TOTAL remodel all the way from new roof, plumbing, HVAC, kitchen, baths, floors, etc. We will be living in an apartment while this all goes down. Meanwhile, we will be out of the country for two weeks before our move on March 13. Crazy times. We need to get together when the dust settles. Email me where you are living.

  5. Thanks so much for sharing what’s going on in your life. Reading your posts daily, I feel like you and your loved ones ARE part of my life. Wishing you and your loved ones all the best in the upcoming transitions.

  6. Hi Cyndi,
I love your blog! I love you too! Thank you for being so real and forthcoming about your life. It is very endearing and draws others to you in a way that is truly impactful and life changing for them. Thank you for your positive attitude and uplifting messages….scripture and otherwise. They too draw others near….to Him. In your weakness, He is strong. Humble thyself in the sight of the Lord, and he will lift you up higher, and higher! We are all very blessed by your life and look forward to all that God has planned for you and Wayne! An even bigger ministry than before….and right here on your blog! Enjoy the process, for sure. He will lead you to the best place….even if it’s still being in the apartment when the baby arrives. You can trust him completely. He will not forsake you! He has a good and perfect plan for you!

    Many Blessings,
    Michele Zurovec–Austin, Tx

  7. Congrats on your new granddaughter in May. What a wonderful present just before summer. Happy House Hunting as well!!

  8. Ok, Cindi, we have much in common! I’m loving this warm weather and sunshine peeking through the clouds that God gave us today (I’m in Louisville). I LOVE home decorating and shopping, I have a birthday on May 25 and I love the Lord with all my heart. I say move to Louisville!
Prayers for you and your family that all will fall into place with as little stress as possible and that you’ll find that house that’s just right!

  9. Oh such nice pics… looks like some nice character in that house. We’ve never bought but have built 3 houses ourselves so I think we are settling in house 3 for awhile 11 years so far. It’s fun to build but really takes an imagination lol. This one looks like a winner… may you both feel Gods leading and have peace when you make your decision. Thanks for your update.
    Blessings Karen

  10. Thanks for the update Cyndi! Of course we’re probably all curious about your life.😉 House hunting is so fun…unless it’s in CA in which case it’s just downright stressful. (been there, done that) I love seeing the houses on Insta stories you are looking at. They are beautiful. Don’t you get this weird excited, butterfly feeling when you walk in a new home you like and think of all the possibilities? You’re Memorial Day weekend and mine will both be filled with joy. Our son (oldest child) is getting married on the 26th in Nashville. We are so excited for them. Sweetest couple!!! Happy Monday! XO

  11. That outdoor fireplace is fabulous!! I would love to have something like that for hanging out and entertaining. Good luck on your search.

  12. Congratulations on your granddaughter! Exciting but nerve-wracking too! I finished house hunting a couple of months ago and we’re still in the process of selling one and moving in to another. I’ve had mixed feelings about the whole process but know that these worries will fall by the wayside. Good luck to you and your family!

  13. Exciting times ahead for all of you. Can’t wait to see pictures your precious grand daughter. Best wishes with your new home purchase 😊 praying for you Cyndi

  14. Congratulations on a baby girl – that will be so fun! Praying all goes well and she is a happy healthy baby! I have also wondered why you all were looking to move from the beautiful home you recently bought… Just knew you’d share if you felt lead to! I love looking at houses too!! We are actually building a home that should be completed by the end of March! It’s been fun to pick out things that we’ve always dreamt of having… (#firstworldproblems) and a little stressful because I am so indecisive and like so many different things! lol…
    Blessings and ENJOY!!!

  15. Dear ladies that read this blog, I have on my heart that we lift Cyndi and her family up in prayer. We all look to Cyndi for direction and guidance whether it be in fashion and/or her daily Bible verses of encouragement. My guess is that in this chapter of her life we can all be supporting her! Cyndi, this chapter will soon pass, and will be but a time of making memories! May God bless you ubundantly and give you comfort and peace.

  16. Congrats on sweet baby coming in May🎀🎀🎀 Sorry you are in an apartment but you will be in a home soon. We will be searching next year for a larger home since we down sized too much. Too small isn’t good either 😉

  17. Good luck with the house hunting! The two of you know that God will lead you to where He wants you to be. It is an exciting time for y’all, for sure. And with the impending arrival of Colt’s little sister, there is so much to celebrate. Thank you for sharing some pictures of the homes with us!

  18. Wishing you well on your home search. When we were searching, it seemed we either loved certain homes and certain locations but it was more difficult finding a combination of the two. God will lead you to the perfect home for you! Congrats also on your soon to be new grandbaby!

  19. Congratulations on your grand daughter. My grandson will arrive around May 16. His name is Joel David. Love the home pictures. When one door shuts another one opens is what I hear and it sounds like you are experiencing that now. Love to look at the newfashion trends you share with us and your openness. Blessings to you and family.

  20. Sorry to read of you leaving the life of a pastor and wife. House hunting is not something I have ever done. We built in our 20’s and continue to live in the house we created, raised out children and plan to die in. It is amazing to realize the different ways people address life and the changes that come their way. But that is what keeps the real estate people employed at this time . . . I think that career is going away too.

  21. Good luck house hurting but I know it’s a pain to move. But before you know it you’ll be enjoying your new home with your new granddaughter. Looking forward to your spring series with JoLynn.

  22. Wow! Lots of fun stuff to look forward to with buying a new home and welcoming a new grandbaby. That’s so exciting.
I appreciate your blog so much. I started reading it for the great style and fashion aspects, but it is Beauty For The Heart that got me hooked. Time after time the scriptures and words of encouragement have been just the thing I needed to read. Today was no exception.
Have a lovely, lovely day Cyndi

  23. Good luck on your house hunt! Wish we had bought one already built instead of building. Looks like you have a lot of great options there friend!
    Have a great week!

  24. Wow that is exciting! New baby in the family and a home. I hope that God sends you the house you want soon.
    All the best
