Questions and Answers

Happy Thursday sweet friends! I have gotten so many questions lately that I felt I needed to do a post and answer them all here.

I try my best to answer all the questions but sometimes life gets in the way, and I can’t get to them. I hate when that happens!

Let’s address the questions I get the most often.

1 Are you going to do a hair tutorial?

Yes! I am so sorry, but here’s the problem.  I don’t want a bad video. These stay on the internet FOREVER, and I want it to be semi-professional. Therein lies the problem. I have done it twice, and I don’t like either one. I plan to hire someone who is good with videos.

2. Tell me about your living room furniture and decor.

You’re sweet to want to know about my house. I love decorating, but it’s a slow process for me especially since we’ve recently moved.

Questions and Answers

  • 1. This couch was purchased at Haverty’s Furniture, but I no longer see it on their website. We have had it for several years.
  • 2. I recently got this coffee table at Wayfair. You can find it here.
  • 3. My jute rug is from Pottery Barn, and I love it!
  • 4. The white mirror I recently purchased, and you can find it here.

3. How tall are you?

I’m 5’6″

4. What foundation do you wear?

This summer I’ve been wearing it cosmetics CC cream. I love that it has SPF 50. I use the pressed powder with it, or I feel like it’s too oily for me.

5. What diet do you do? Have you lost weight?

Okay, I’ve talked about this a lot, but I’m a part of the Faster Way to Fat Loss program.  I wouldn’t call it a diet, more of a lifestyle. Because I’ve been doing it for several years, I’m in the VIP group.

I have been contemplating becoming a certified coach and leading my own Faster Way To Fat Loss groups, but I’m still praying about it.

I have not lost any more weight since I went through the program the first time. I’m about 5 pounds heavier than last summer. I felt like I was getting too thin last year, so I try to maintain where I am currently.

6. What are you reading right now?

I love to read! I’m currently reading Fervent by Priscilla Shirer, Unexpected by Christine Caine, and my husband and I reading Draw the Circle: The 40 Day Prayer Challenge.

7. Are you and your husband in ministry?

No, we are currently not in full-time ministry. Wayne is a manager at Cabela’s, which is an outdoor hunting and fishing store. He loves it! Wayne is an outdoorsman, so this is right up his alley. He is also my photographer, so I keep him busy.

I have no idea what God has planned for our future. We are willing to do whatever God wants us to do. Church work is hard and to be honest we have some deep wounds, so we are healing and praying. One thing I know, God is good, and he is faithful.

8. What nail color are you currently wearing?

Okay, I have the SNS nails on my hands, and they use a white. I don’t know the name, but the number is #131. On my toes, I have Alpine Snow.

I’m so honored that you have taken time out of your day to stop by my blog. I’m also on FacebookPinterest, and my favorite one, Instagram.

Beauty For the Heart~~“As I stumble through this life help me to create more laughter than tears, dispense more cheer than gloom, spread more joy than despair. Never let me become so indifferent that I will fail to see the wonder in the eyes of a child, or the twinkle in the eyes of the aged.”~Nancy Mehl

This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24

Have a blessed day!

  1. Love your blog!
Can you please tell me where you got those earrings in the top picture (in the pic with the lilac top)? They are absolutely adorable!!

  2. I’ve been a big fan of your blog and you were the first blogger I started following! The Christian messages and your honesty are what I look forward to every day. Thank you for sharing parts of your life with us.

I worked for Cabela’s for 13 yrs in one of their Texas stores (HR) and enjoyed my time with them. After the BP purchase, my job was eliminated. I knew it was coming and had about 3 weeks to prepare. On Feb. 1st when many of us were let go, the verse you put in today’s post is exactly what I was sharing with my other peers that were losing their jobs as well. But God is not just good, he’s GREAT! Other things were coming my way so I trust in him fully!

I had to share when I saw where your husband is now working. I hope he enjoys it there. I met many employees there that are now dear friends.

    Blessings!

  3. I love this Beauty for the Heart. I am going to write it out to put on my desk as a reminder. I start back teaching in 10 days and this will help me remember why I teach! Thank you!

  4. I’m an It Cosmetics girl, too. I’ve always thought the CCream made me look a little oily. News Flash: they now gave an oil free matte CCream. I can’t wait to try it! QVC had it on last night and there’s a special offer right now. Check it out!

  5. I love your blog! It’s nice to see fashion from someone my age. I always look forward to seeing your ideas. God bless you as you heal from your wounds. Enjoy your grandbabies!

  6. I recently stumbled upon your site. Where have you been all my life? I’m addicted. You are simply the entire package! Genuine.

  7. Thank you for sharing and I know He has
you right where he wants you and He will
let you know when the next chapter will open!!
    Have a blessed evening!!

  8. Thank you for posting about your foundation I also use that and wondered if there is a setting powder sometimes I feel too shiny! Lol I will give that a try

  9. Thank you for being so open and honest and willing to share your life with us. I appreciate the fashion and home etc things you share but most of all I appreciate how you share your love of God – which should be the most important focus of all our lives.

God bless you and your family.

  10. Cyndi,
It’s so fun getting to know you! I have spent a lot of time in Cabela’s recently – my husband and son love to shop there! In fact, we recently stopped in one around Lexington on the way to Tennessee. I wonder if it is the one where your husband works – lol! I’m also a preacher’s daughter and certainly understand how hard working in ministry can be. Thanks for sharing!

  11. I’ve only been reading your blog for a short time & enjoy your blog & fashions so much. I wish I could have read about your trials and what you’ve gone through. I enjoy reading about your sweet family.

  12. I have to share this with you. Recently, I had the opportunity to shop at a Loft Outlet store while on vacation. I’ve never really been interested in Loft brands but since I been following your blog, I decided to try them. While shopping, I saw your style everywhere! I kept thinking, ‘Oh, Cyndi would love this and Cyndi would love that.’ It’s amazing how well I feel that I know you even though we’ve never met. I love your blog and I’m in awe of how much you inspire others. Thank you for sharing…I enjoy it so much.

  13. You are such an inspiration to me. I look forward to reading your blog and Beauty for the Heart. You have a real ministry right here. Thank you for sharing and answering our somewhat “nosy “ questions.

  14. I absolutely love reading your posts everyday! I also have a question..I love wearing dresses in the summer but at 60 years old I don’t feel comfortable going bare legged especially to church. I’d appreciate any advice you’re willing to give..trying my best to be age appropriate without being frumpy!
    Thank you!

  15. I am a pastor’s wife. I know how difficult it can be sometimes. I’ve had people say mean things to my children and to me. The good outweighs the bad, but I totally get it.

  16. Hi Cyndi,
You led me to think and pray about A Faster Way… and I am currently in Week 1! What a challenge, but I know I can do it. God has definitely worked through you to lead me in my journey. Thank you!

  17. I loved this post. You are so kind to share all this person stuff about you and your family and to try to respond to all of our questions. Love your posts and love your look, so this blog was very helpful.

    Blessings

  18. Love the snap shot of the house so much fun to work with a blank slate but again can be a real challenge. I am so glad to hear you’ve put on a tiny bit of weight, I was getting worried but I was afraid to say anything. When you photograph as very thin, your too thin….and I sure understand about deep wounds (oh my it is so hard to recover from those)……I am so proud of you two for carrying on. God is blessing you two and BFTH……so good today! Praying, sweet lady!!!!!!

  19. I’m pretty sure as a fashion blogger your not required to share more than fashion… I’m not sure? But you open up more than your sense of fashion to us and thank you for that… your BFTH and willingness to let us in your home and life truly extends to us the beautiful person you are. Thank you for all you do…
Blessings and enjoy the sleepover it sounds like fun🤗
    Karen

  20. Thank you for taking time to answer questions! You really are in full time ministry. This blog is a blessing to many. It is sad that pastoral church ministry can be so hard. I Have been a teacher in our church school for 30 years and have experienced some of the hard. I have also seen what a hard job pastors have. It is sad that we can be so critical and hard on others.

  21. I’ve been following you for years. And you’re a kick! And you’re graceful.
My family too has wounds. For years now I have chosen my own Bible studies – more now than I ever participated in while attending a church. Fervent is one if my favorite! I finished the first “circle” book last year and saw there was a second one out now.
    I’ve always admired your honesty.
    All the best to you.
    Blessings

  22. Cyndi,
Your job is hard! Thank you for being so open and vulnerable. It attracts people to your blog and makes us feel connected. It’s encouraging to know that other believers are struggling with deep hurts and that Godis redeeming ALL of us. Thank you for your openess

  23. Cyndi Thank you for putting yourself out there for us. I love your post. You and I have pretty much the same taste and style in clothing and decorating. I love your blog
