2 Ways to Style a Tie-Neck Blouse

Welcome to 2o Days of Winter Fashion!! I’m teaming up with Jo-Lynne Shane again to style everything from holiday outfits,  winter workwear, to casual outfits that will have you ready for the upcoming holiday season.

Today I’m styling a red tie-neck blouse that looks a little festive. I thought I could wear it to a holiday party or even to church (If I wear it to church, I’ll wear a longer skirt).

So first, I styled the blouse with a black skirt from LOFT. It’s a soft and stretchy ponte material. I’m 5’6″ if you’re wondering about the length on you.

2 Ways to Style a Tie-Neck BlouseI added a little bling with my earrings and bracelet. My clutch is A New Day Brand from Target but it’s not online yet.

2 Ways to Style a Tie-Neck BlouseThe tie-neck blouse was a little low for me, so I’m wearing a black cami underneath the blouse.

Next, I styled the tie-neck blouse with jeans and a cardigan for a more casual look. For fun, I added red booties, but black booties would work too.

2 Ways to Style a Tie-Neck BlouseI did not realize that my Wit & Wisdom jeans are sold out. Ugh! They do have a similar pair that has the absolution built in, but they’re a darker jean,

Beauty For The Heart~~It’s the beginning of the holiday season with Thanksgiving just a few weeks away. I have a lot to be thankful for, but I’m most thankful for a God who not only loves me (and loves you) unconditionally but He cares about every detail of our life.

Here are some scriptures that remind us of His promises.

  • The Lord will give His people strength. Psalm 29:11
  • The Lord hears our cries. Psalm 34:17
  • The Lord will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4-5
  • The Lord will answer when you call to Him. Jeremiah 33:3
  • You need not be afraid. God is with you. Isaiah 41:13
  • The Lord will give rest to your burdened soul. Matthew 11:28-29
  • The Lord will comfort you. John 14:27

Have a blessed day!

  1. Both looks are great but those red booties stole the show in the 2nd outfit! I need to find a pair so I can recreate the look.

  2. I have similar red booties, would you wear this look with black jeans as well as blue jeans?
And can you style more with the red booties for the holidays?

  3. I’m in 💯% agreement with you when it comes to decorating and the holidays. There is lots to do in preparation for Christmas so I decorate before Thanksgiving. Plus I enjoy taking it all in & enjoying my home. I did some holiday shopping today. The first place I hit was Bat & Body Works. The Christmas music was going and put me a festive mood. I have so much thankfulness this year as my husband is beating cancer.

  4. Thank you Cyndi for the scripture reminder. I needed it today. Feel so weary with responsibility with my mom with dementia and my own health with migraines. BUT…..God is Good. You look so cute in the outfits.

  5. I agree! Why not decorate early and enjoy the fruits of your labour longer. White, twinkling lights can be up anytime of the year. They add some light to those dark days. I’m going to start decorating Monday but leave the Christmas specific decorations for later. It just makes me happy and gets me in the spirit.
Both outfits are cute! Those booties make me wish I could still wear a higher heel.

  6. I love both ways you styled this blouse! I’m ready to wear red, be thankful, and decorate. I agree that, if we want, we can enjoy the thankfulness and reverence of Thanksgiving along with the celebration of God’s greatest gift to us. Thank you for sharing your style and heart!

  7. You have reminded me of a red pattered blouse I have and could be wearing. I’m not usually a red person but with the black cardigan it would be nice…. I just bought a Christmas bough today with white lights and decorations on it to either put above the kitchen window or over our powder room mirror… I am so ready to decorate, I’ve also purchased some plaid Christmas cushions to go with some others I bought last year. I will have the house decorated Remembrance Day weekend. Our Thanksgiving was over first weekend in October. This will probably be our first year for an artificial tree so that will go up as soon as I find one I like… Also the Christmas Hallmark movies start tonight so could it get any better?? I love the Christmas season and celebrating the birth of Jesus and how he came into the world a little baby and what he did for me… So thankful.

  8. Cyndi you look as cute as ever.
Part of our Thanksgiving tradition is that we put up our 1st tree after we eat. (We put up 4 trees.)
Thanksgiving starts the Christmas season as far as I am concerned! My favorite time of year!

  9. I would love to wear tights with some skirts and dresses that I think may be a bit too short, however, I wonder how you keep your clothing laying flat and looking smooth over tights. I haven’t worn tights for that reason because I think my clothes always bunch up. whats your secret?

  10. Love the outfits! I am a Christmas lover too – my trees will be up & the house decorated this coming weekend! I am listening to Christmas music. 🙂 It is the spirit of the season & I like to try to keep it with me all year long (until I am driving on the freeway – them at times, it disappears!) & the earlier with the festivities, the better! Thanks for the days of winter fashion – looking forward to seeing what you & Jolynne will be styling.

  11. Super cute outfit and I like it best with jeans because I don’t like to wear tights lol. I am glad you styled a blouse because I’ve seen a lot of sweaters lately and it’s just not sweater weather in South Texas yet; although we did get a nice cold front last night after a rainy Halloween. Luckily it cleared by 6:30 and we still had lots of trick or treaters.

  12. I am ready to decorate for Christmas myself! And I usually do decorate before Thanksgiving because we go out of state for Thanksgiving, so coming home to a decorated house is wonderful and less stressful than waiting till after!
Love the red boots, they look brighter on you than on Macy’s? I am worried I wouldn’t get that much use out of them but the whole outfit looks awesome on you!
On week 3 of FWTFL and my clothes are already fitting better!

  13. Pretty outfits! I like them both – and red looks great on you! Also, November is where red on Fridays for Veterans, so just another reason to have some red :).
I love to decorate early, but my décor is understated and not over the top so most of my family is good with it. I’m more of a white lights, pinecones, holly, and magnolia decorator, so it’s just wintery instead of full on Christmas-y :), if that makes sense. It’s all so pretty so why not enjoy it longer than just a couple of weeks.

  14. I like the red blouse and love the black and gold earrings. I am ready for some cool weather and so excited for the upcoming holidays. I have come to realize that I can’t get everything done because I am always going in so many directions. Now I keep things simple and enjoy time with my family and friends. It’s OK if you can’t accomplish all the ideas that are spinning around in your head.

  15. What pretty outfits! I especially love the way you styled the blouse with the red boots. It would be such a fun holiday look for some of the events I have coming up.
