Ruched Bodycon Dress for Spring

It’s hard to believe that this is the last week of March. Time really does fly! It’s Day 22 of 26 Days of Spring Fashion. If you want to see all the outfits I have styled so far; you can go here.

Today I’ve got a ruched bodycon dress from Treasure & Bond. I styled it alone and also with a long sleeve button down.

This is a soft stretch-jersey dress with ruching on one side. It’s also more of a midi dress since it sits below my knees. I’m 5’6″ for size reference.

Ruched Bodycon Dress for SpringI am a heel girl, but when I wear a shorter dress, I will typically wear flat sandals. Since this dress is longer, I prefer a heel.

If you’ve been reading my blog for very long, you know nude heels are my preference because they create a long, fluid line from the hip to the toe making your leg look miles long.

These wedge heels are from JCPenney, and they’re a good price point. Even though they have 3 1/2 inch heel, they’re very comfortable. They will look cute with all my spring dresses.

It’s also nice to wear when the weather is cool. This striped button-down matches perfectly but I think a plain white button-down would work too.

Also, this notch collar blazer that I styled here would look cute with this dress.

Ruched Bodycon Dress for SpringI tied the button down in the front, and I’m carrying my straw handbag from JCPenney.

Ruched Bodycon Dress for SpringIf you work in a casual office, I think this outfit would be a good option with the button down. If you need a lower heel, I really like these from Target.

Beauty For The Heart~~Galatians 1:10 says, Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.

It’s hard not to be a people pleaser, but we are called to please God. Whose approval are you seeking? Pray today for the courage to seek God’s approval above anyone else’s.

Have a blessed day!

  1. You look amazing in this dress!!! I think I will pick it up for spring! Thanks for helping me find some great outfits for all of our upcoming graduation events!

  2. You look amazing in this dress. It bags on all the rail thin Nordy models; they should’ve used you instead to model the dress.

  3. I love this look on you Cyndi! Thank you so much for wearing the dress with a heel. I don’t know if it’s my age or what but I don’t like the bodycon dresses with flats or sneakers… I feel like they are meant to be more dressy!! That’s just my own opinion of course! You look great in everything you style! Love your blog!!

  4. Looks great on you, but for me….um….I don’t think so! 😝 I love most of what you style, but I’m too tall to wear most of it. I’d be WAY too fat to wear a dress this sexy. This is for you beautiful, slim ladies. At 5’9” and 160 pounds (which is not as terribly large as it sounds, but yes, I know, I could stand to lose 25 pounds or so) and wearing a size 8/10, this sexy dress is NOT for my body. Maybe if I covered it with a looooong cardigan. I’m afraid it would show every single lump, bump and imperfection.

But as usual, YOU look amazing in this! To those with better figures than mine, I say – go for it! Me, I’ll stick with something a little looser.

  5. Great look on you and love the way the dress fits. I love nude shoes, nude boots & nude sandals too. I have them all – LOL! They really do help stretch your legs.

  6. I love this look on you! What size are you wearing? I normally wear the same size as you, so I would like to use that as a reference. The dress on the model online looks totally different. I would love to order this asap!
    Thank you!!

  7. You look lovely as usual, Cyndi! That’s a really cute dress. Question: is the ruching on the left side or the right side? I’m thinking it’s on the left, but it’s hard to tell in the photos. (My right side is a problem area for me, so it would be great for me if the ruching were on right!)

  8. My daughter follows a younger blogger and she adds blouses and shirts over her dresses too. Must be a new thing. Looks comfy and cute both ways. Great way to get two looks out of one dress. I have your BFTH written in my journal. Such true words:)

  9. I love that dress on you. So slenderizing, but I’m sorry when you added the blouse it just was not as flattering. Love the nude shoes to elongate the legs.

  10. I have to say I saw the dress and thought “super cute”, then I went to see how much it was and where to find it. I couldn’t believe it was the same dress. It looks so much better on you than the model! I wouldn’t have given this dress a second look. Have a great day!

  11. Love the dress!! But I must say, 99% of the time you would win the “who wore it better”. These clothing websites should be using your photos to sell their products. I had seen this dress on Nordstroms site previously and thought it was blah. This dress will be perfect for a spring event I’m going to. Thanks for the inspiration!

  12. I am with Sharon B – you look amazing in that dress! I like the look with the shirt as well. I just picked up a pair of nude heels for spring and find myself wearing them with everything! Thanks for the tip.

  13. I’ll just say it…that dress is HOT, and it looks fantastic on you! That being said, I don’t know if I have the confidence to pull that off. Are you wearing Spanx under that dress, or is it thick enough to not need? I do wish it was shorter because at 5’2″ it will be really long on me :(. Love it all! And yes to not trying to win approval from anyone but God.

  14. Hi Cyndi! I would like to get your opinion on “fat transfers”. This is a procedure where a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon would liposuction a little fat from your own body and inject it into your face. I heard that it is a bit more permanent. Have you ever choked that out?

  15. Love. The two ways to present the dress
Question the price difference order on line or purchase I’m store

    Have a Blessed day.

  16. Love the look! Never would have thought to pair a shirt with the dress. I own the dress in an olive color and you have inspired me to try something different. Have a wonderful day!

  17. Wow! Love the look! The color looks so good on you. I would have never thought to pair it with the shirt. Thanks for the idea.

  18. Cute outfit but the dress is a bit too long and form fitting for me. Looks great on you. But I’m getting the bracelet so thank you for sharing and have a wonderful day.

  19. That’s so funny – we’re doing the same thing! We moved in to our house last May and we’re working on the front yard. We’ve ripped out all the overgrown hedges and cut down a leaning tree. Luckily, my son is a landscaper and is creating a landscape plan for us and will help install it. I can’t wait. We also updated our outdoor lighting and it made a huge difference with such a small thing. Just making it more our style is so fun. Enjoy!
