My 5 Top Questions & Answers-Spring 2019

Well ladies, happy Friday! I feel like this has been a long week and I’m ready for the weekend. I have lots of plans, but they all have to do with things I want to get done around the house. We’ll see how that goes!

Today I’m doing a Questions and Answers post because when I looked back, I haven’t done one since January?!? What? I thought I did one a month ago. Haha!

There are so many times I’m not able to answer every question I get in my inbox, and I wish there were more time in the day. When I start getting a lot of the same questions, I know it’s time to do a post like this. So let’s get started!

1. What self-tanner are you using?

It’s that time of year when we want to use a self-tanner, and there are a lot of self-tanners out there. I do change from time to time, and right now I’m using Coconut Water Based Long Lasting Self Tanner Foam. It gives me a dark brown tan, and it stays for several days. The only negative is that it is watery if that’s a word. But other than that I like it.

I think the directions say to put it on and then a few hours later, shower but I don’t do that. I put it on in the morning, and I’m good to go. It doesn’t smell, and it’s inexpensive.

2. What do you do to stay in shape?

I have answered this many times, but it’s been several months since I shared about it so if you’re new around here, I do the Faster Way to Fat Loss. Because I have been a part of the program for several years now, I am in the VIP Program.

This is not a diet but it is a lifestyle, and it helps you not only lose weight but feel better overall. Whether you have been exercising for years or you’re a beginner, you can do this program. They have gym workouts, home workouts, and low impact workouts for you to choose.

I genuinely believe in this program, and if you need to lose weight or to get in better shape, I highly recommend the Faster Way to Fat Loss. I am in the maintenance phase at this time so I practice intermittent fasting, carb cycling and I do the home workouts.

3. What color is your nail polish?

This is one that I get several times a day on Instagram, so I’m constantly sharing! But I do the SNS Nail system (it’s a powder, and you dip your nails in the powder), which most nail places have now. The color doesn’t have a name, but it’s SC24.

If you want a color that is similar, I use OPI Funny Bunny on my toes. It’s a great spring/summer color.

4. What eyeshadow are you using?

This is another question I get a lot over on Instastories. Since the first of the year, I’ve been using this Romantic Palette from Beauty Counter. About a month ago I purchased this Necessary Neutrals Palette, and it’s amazing! I love them both!

5. Do you still have your Hair Extensions?

Someone asked this:

“Do you still have them? Are they glued, clipped or sewn in? Are they individual pieces or like a curtain? Human hair or synthetic? How often do you have to get them maintained? I know there are a lot of questions, but I really like the way yours look, and I’d like to have a successful experience with them. Thanks so much!”

Yes, I still have them and I love them! I always get women who comment and say they like my hair better shorter and I appreciate that and I know I will go back to shorter hair at some point. But, I love them and so does Mr. Spivey and that’s all that matters to me.

I have beaded weft extensions. These are the best of both hair extension worlds: they have full coverage like a sew-in weave, but with the durability of fusion extensions.

Here is some more information about beaded weft extensions:

  • There is no glue, heat, tape or chemicals, your hair and the follicle aren’t damaged.
  • The microbeads are durable and made of a lightweight silicone lining that minimized the weight on the hair follicle.
  • There are various lengths, textures, and colors to choose from. My stylist colored them to match my hair perfectly.
  • They’re 100% authentic human hair.
  • They’re triple stitched, meaning they’re durable and will last a long time.
  • Using a wefted hair track helps reduce the amount of hair that breaks or falls out.

I have tried individual beaded extensions, and they did pull some of my hair out, but I have had zero problems with these extensions. I have them moved up once a month (that’s when I get my hair colored) and that’s it.

Pricing will vary depending on where you live so I would check with your area. I go to Cha Chas here in Lexington, KY. and my dream team (that’s what I call them) are Lauren and Maddie. Lauren does my color and Maddie does my extensions.

Those are the TOP 5 questions I get asked regularly. I will be happy to answer any more questions!!

You all know I love SOCIAL THREADS and they’re having a 20% off sitewide sale! This jumpsuit and this jumpsuit may be in my order!

I’m going to try to get to LOFT this weekend for a try on but I did want to let you know they are having a 50% off sale! Some Tops and sweaters are $20!

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to stop by my blog. I’m also on FacebookPinterest, and, Instagram.

  1. I joined FWTFL for one 6 week session and found the program and process to be incredible and I am over 60. Never thought I could get my waist back and lose 10 lbs, but I am only 2 lbs away. I did ask my coach before I quit, how I would alter my macro nutrients once I reach my goal weight and she said to up each on 5% and see how that works to go into maintenance. I’m wondering if you did something similar or don’t you even have to count your macros any more?

    Love these Q&A posts.

  2. Every once in awhile you mention that you use spanks under your dresses. Could you please tell me what products you use for this? TY

  3. Hi Cyndi! It’s so fun to share tips, tricks and products amongst girlfriends! I enjoy these posts. I have recently done a lot of reading and exploring with intermittent fasting for weight loss and health. I am curious as to what your IF schedule is. Do you do 16:8? If so, do you limit your calories on those days to below 600? Thanks!

  4. Thanks for sharing Cyndi! What is the maintenance phase of Faster Way to Fat loss? Have you just figured out the right balance for you? I did the program for a few rounds and then did the VIP program for a year and felt like it’s always geared toward weight loss. I kept asking about how to determine how to maintain my weight but couldn’t really get people to answer me. I needed to save some money so quit VIP. I’ve tried on my own but recently started to gain back inches and it’s frustrating. I guess I’m just venting. Thanks.

    1. It’s the VIP program and I think I have found what works for me. I know what I need to eat to stay where I am, That doesn’t mean I don’t slack off at times.

I’ve always felt like Amanda stressed more about a healthy body and not about the weight loss. She never wants you to weigh yourself.

      I don’t feel like I’m helping! Haha!

  5. Cindy I enjoyed your Q & A post put after looking at the prices of the products you use do you think maybe you could do a post on drug store our Walmart makeup , tanning, and skin care. Something that I can afford. I love following your post and pick up a lot of ideas

    1. AS I stated in my post:

I always get women who comment and say they like my hair better shorter and I appreciate that and I know I will go back to shorter hair at some point. But, I love them and so does Mr. Spivey and that’s all that matters to me.

  6. You have inspired me for about 4-5 years now, and I want to thank you for all the great tips on clothes, makeup, shoes, seasonal changes with fashion. Most of all a huge thank you for being a Christian, and sharing your Christian values, it has really helped me along the way. You are truly a beautiful woman of God inside and out. And I think you just gorgeous!

    In Christ,
    Renita Richa

  7. Hi Cindi!
I just read all of your questions
    and answers today,
I just wanted to voice my opinion as
far as your hair being shorter. I prefer
it LONG! It looks great and I hope you
keep it that way for a little longer! 💇🏻‍♀️
    No pun intended.
    Have a great weekend.

    Jo

  8. Thanks for all the answers! going to try the tanner as I’m always a fan of self-tanning. I do have a question about it though…sorry, I know, more questions…do you use the tanner on your face? I’m always VERY hesitant to use anything like that on my face and usually just go with some bronzer to “warm up” a bit. Just wondering if you do?
As for your extensions – let me just say that I love them – I think the longer hair actually makes you look younger, and while that isn’t true for everyone, for you it is. That being said, I think some women hold on to their long(er) hair longer than they should and it’s heavy and ages them. I think we all need good stylists who will be honest and creative to get the best look for each person.
    Great post!!

    1. I have used it on my face and it works great. I don’t do it all the time because I wear foundation and bronzer and I don’t feel it’s always necessary.

Thank you and I agree about the extensions, I’m going to enjoy them while I can. This too shall pass!

  9. If your husband loves your hair with extensions… then in my opinion ~ that trumps everything ( unles YOU don’t like them, but YOU DO! ). They look amazing!! ♥️♥️♥️

  10. Can you please tell me the name of the lipstick you wear? I’m thinking its Maybelline but can’t remember the name of it.
I’m like you in that I don’t like alot of color on my lips.
Always enjoy your posts and your Instastories!

    1. I can tell ya that one – it’s Maybelline, 235 Warm me up 🙂 – I asked that a few months ago, and I bought it, and it’s a good neutral color.

  11. Do you have to be on Facebook to participate in the Faster Way program? Thanks so much for your great blog!

  12. Can you wear your hair up or half up with extensions? I think I’ve seen you do a half up one time since you got them. How about a low messy bun or ponytail? Do you put it up when you sleep at night?

  13. I absolutely love the self tanner It gives me the best self tan I have ever had. Thank you for the recommendation!

  14. I bought the self tanner as well. However it did not come with a mitt as the bottle says is needed to apply. Do you use a mitt? If so, where can I purchase the mitt. Thank you!

  15. I bought the self-tanner foam you recommended, and I like it. I have not showered after, and it works great! Thanks for the recommendation.

  16. What shapewear do you use? And do you wear shapewear daily? I’m always trying to figure out the best ones to use!

  17. I ordered the self tanner through your recommendation and I like it! It’s different than I have used before but goes on easily and color is great! Got compliments the first day I used it! SHocked at how inexpensive it is! I like your hair long! The first time you asked a few years back I said short but I was wrong! You inspired me to grow mine! Thanks for your insight!

      1. Thank you for today’s post. Couple of questions. I tried to look up the self tanner on my Healthy Living app but it didnt recognize the brand. I know you are trying to use cleaner products. How does this one rate?
Secondly I started the FWTWL program Monday so I’m a newbie and working out what to eat each day to hit my macros. Any chance you could do a post on what you would typically eat and any other tips?
        Thanks!!
