Happy Tuesday! We had a busy day yesterday, and we ended the afternoon with a photo shoot of some outfits that are coming to the blog soon.
At the last minute, we decided to meet some family for dinner, and I wore a casual outfit. This is the kind of outfit I wear all summer when the weather is hot. I might switch out my jeans for shorts, but this is my casual style.
I recently ordered this tank from Amazon, and it comes in a ton of colors and patterns. I think I’ll order a few more. If you’re a fan of a longer blouse, this one is a good option.
The blouse is a polyester/spandex mix, so it doesn’t wrinkle, and I like the look of the big buttons.
For quite some time, I’ve been looking for a lace bralette that I could wear with tank tops. I didn’t want to wear a strapless bra with this blouse.
I finally found a bralette that works for me, and I purchased it at American Eagle. I’m wearing a black one, and you can see the criss-cross straps in the back.
The lace bralette is on sale, and I have three different colors.
I think this blouse looks good without tucking it in, but you can do a front tuck if you like that look better.
It’s no surprise I’m wearing a flat camel color sandal, camel or nude are my favorite colors when it comes to shoes. These are comfortable, and they’ll go with all my summer outfits.
One last thing, you asked for less expensive jeans and these from American Eagle are under $30, and they are a good jean! I can’t believe how much I like them. I would say they run true to size.

Cyndi, please tell me the purpose of a bralette. Why wear a bralette instead of a strapless bra?
Well for one the bralette is more comfortable than a strapless bra. Lots of times you wear a bralette if the item you’re wearing is low. A bralette can be seen because it’s almost like a cami with lace.

Cyndi, I love this outfit!! In fact, I actually bought the tank top in tie dye blue and tie dye green. If I wear a cardigan or light jacket on top this would work for church. Amazon truly is a hit or miss when it comes to clothes. There are some items I love and others are not so great or run way too small. Thanks so much for BFTH! You are a blessing!

Wow!!! I love this look!! You look great! I ordered the jeans and the top. How awesome to pay under 50.00 for an outfit. I used my shop runner and got free 2 day shipping which is perfect. I agree about quality – but I’m a watch the sales and buy then person. My philosophy is if I love it and it’s too expensive I visit it till it goes on sale – but if I go back during the sale and my size isn’t there, it wasn’t meant for me! Yes, I visit my prospective clothes!

On a MUCH lighter fashion note, today is the first time I’ve worn high waisted jeans (super cute cream colored with a slightly cropped flare from Free People) and I wasn’t sure if they call for a full or half tuck- any advice?
This is my casual outfit all the way. I really like the tank. I’ll be looking for a lighter neutral sandal when away this weekend as I have to replace the ones I’ve had for years. Being a little lighter in color does make a difference too… I agree with the Amazon purchases they can be hit or miss. I did order a daily ritual black jersey t shirt dress and the quality is superb!!! Please share your misses:) that would be fun and may tell us what to look for.

I just purchased the identical bralette at the Maidenform outlet for $14:99. Comes in nude and white as well. Very comfy!
I’m going to have to go to AE 🙂 – every time you wear/post those jeans I love them! and what a great looking comfy outfit.
As for buying quality – I gauge where and how often I’ll wear something to determine the $$ I’m willing to spend. Jeans – I’m not a “label snob” and I will buy $200 ones or $20 ones – if they fit and I like them. Summer tops that are weekend wear only – not usually over $25, but a work blouse – I will invest in a good piece.
I had to laugh at the stripes comment – I do remember the striped dress that caused all the uproar :), and yeah, I like the stripes to match up.

I understand about quality and I too have returned a few things to Amazon for that reason. My 22 year old daughter has even noticed the quality has gone down in a few of her favorite stores like Forever 21 and Lululemon. I can understand that with forever 21 but not with lulu because their leggings are over $100 but if they fall apart at the seam they will gladly take them back and give you a credit. Which is good.
I’m still curious to know if those Amazon studded sandals were comfortable? I’ve had them in the cart to order.
