Fall Try-On Session

Happy hump day! Today I have a fall try-on session, and it’s from several different stores with different price points.

First up, I  have a burgundy sweater from Target. I love this style sweater for fall; it’s cozy and perfect for a cool day.

It’s the kind of sweater you want to curl up on the couch with a good book! It comes in several colors, and I’m styling it with denim and leopard flats.

Earrings//Lord + Taylor Jeans (I’m wearing a size 28)//Leopard flats (order 1/2 size up)

This is the same sweater as the burgundy one above but in the camel color. I’m wearing a short jacket over the sweater. The jacket is water-resistant, and it has a hood. It’s perfect for a rainy day, although we haven’t had a lot of those lately.

I’m always looking for a nice trench coat, and this one is a good one, and it’s on sale. It is water-resistant, and I think it runs a little big so if you’re in between sizes, order a size down.

I love this striped sweater; it’s soft and cozy. It’s only showing the plus size online.

Social Threads has the cutest clothes. They’re a small business owned by two moms with impeccable style.

I recently shared my new messenger bag with a chevron strap. You can purchase different straps to change up the look.

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to stop by my blog. I’m also on FacebookPinterest, and, Instagram.

Beauty for the Heart~~I read this a few years ago about suffering.

“Could suffering amplify the message of God’s love and grace? If a preacher talks to you about God’s love, what impact does that have on you?
But if a person in their final hours of life, as they waste away racked with pain because of cancer talks of God’s love, what impact does that have on you?
If someone driving a Lexus has a license plate that says “Blessed” how impressed are you?
But if someone searching through a dump in India says, “I’m so blessed”, how do you react?
Suffering amplifies the message of God’s love and grace.”

C.S. Lewis wrote, God whispers to us in our pleasure, speaks in our conscience, but shouts in our pains: it is His megaphone to rouse a deaf world.

Let’s all allow God to use our suffering to amplify the message of His love and grace.

Have a blessed day!

  1. Oh I love how you put things together. I have a very hard time coordinating items together. Can seem to put it together. Finding things that will make a outfit. I love what you do put together. Very helpful.
WHERE TO FIND THESE ITEMS WOULD BE HELPFUL TOO!

  2. I really like that burgundy top (looks better on you than on the Target model) and that striped sweater.

  3. I love these fall looks! Looking forward to trying a few as soon as this KY weather cools off a bit.

I also love your new office! Can you provide a link or any information about the area rug? Would love to have one in my office.

    Thanks!

  4. So many cute things loved the burgundy top and the off the shoulder was so beautiful.
Trench coat I would like in a different color not black or tan (I’m blonde) same with Moto.
    The messenger bag seems great.

Hard to think of cool weather clothes when it’s 80 degrees outside.
    Thanks for all your posts.

    Shannon

  5. My question is on wide leg jeans, I thought they were coming back in style, but I am not seeing them much, still the skinnies? I am just wondering if i should get rid of my boot cut jeans??

    1. Keep your bootcut jeans. Jo-Lynne Shane (fashion blogger) just styled two pairs, the other day, and she looked amazing in them. Bootcut jeans flatter almost every body type, and gives a lovely lean look.

  6. Love the burgundy sweaters and Target choices. I do know for a fact that suffering through Stage 3 breast cancer and giving all praise, trust, and thanksgiving to God is what gave me the peace that passeth understanding. I might drive a Lexus, but it has a pink ribbon on the license plate-and material things mean less and less to me now. Thank you Jesus for bringing me closer to my God!

  7. I love that you are styling clothes from Target! They always have such cute items are there prices are reasonable! I’m really loving the poncho and am so glad these are in style this Fall!

  8. Hi Cyndi,
Thank you for posting. I like the universal thread long sleeve mock turtleneck sweater. When I click where you show this along with the size you are wearing it sends you over to women’s plus sizes. Does this indicate it only comes in plus sizes. I can’t seem to locate my size. This was right after you posted.

  9. Hi Cyndi, These are beautiful outfits! Love the burgandy color with the leopard flats!!

Love your rug, can you tell me where that is from and a name if you have it? Thank you!

  10. Still blazing hot here. I wore fall gauzy shirt yesterday with itty bitty bootcut jeans to the dentist but ripped them off soon as I got home. Love the inspiration though! Need to shop more soon as All the xs tops will be gone .LOL!

  11. I come here for a peek at your clothes almost daily, but what you wrote at the bottom of your post today hit me like a ton of bricks…..’let us allow God to use our suffering to amplify the message of His love and grace.’

God works in such a way that he gives us what we need, when we need it. And thru God today, you are my inspiration to keep moving forward. Thank you Cyndi!! God bless you!!

  12. Still can’t figure out how to pin your pics?
It’s too to warm in Texas for some of these sweaters but I would love to be able to go back and order them when I’m ready so I like to save to Pinterest.

    1. Gloria, if you hover over the bottom left of each photo, a very faint “P” will show up to use for pinning. Sometimes it’s very hard to see. AND, I can only see that on my laptop, and not on my phone. In other words, I can’t figure out how to pin from my phone….any ideas???

  13. Cyndi, I really like the Moto Jacket. How heavy is it? I live on the Gulf coast. Wondering how much I would actually get to wear it.
