Creating Outfits From Your Closet

Hi ladies! Today I want to share some outfits you can create from your closet. Most of these are basic wardrobe pieces that I keep in my closet year-round.

I feel better when I get dressed, and these are easy outfits to put together. That doesn’t mean I don’t wear some loungewear, I’ll share some of my favorites with you on Monday.

Outfit Formula #1 | Denim Jacket, White Tee, and Black Jeans- This is a classic outfit that never goes out of style. I kept it casual and added white sneakers.

Four Outfits From Your Closet

Which outfit are you most likely to wear?

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to stop by my blog. I’m also on FacebookPinterest, and Instagram.

Beauty For the Heart~~Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

Have a blessed day!

  1. Such cute outfits for these difficult times. I love you hair longer! (I haven’t found your blog in a long time as it was going toy Spam for some reason) Your hair is always perfect so it’s nice to know how you style it. Happy Easter!

  2. Cyndi, hello sweet girlfriend, HAPPY FRIDAY TO YOU!☺

I see why you love to go there, wow, it is absolutely beautiful! I love to hear about your momma, thank you for sharing her with us!♥

I’d definitely wear the camo jeans/black tea/jean jacket!

Many Blessing to you and Wayne!

    Kathy

  3. Cyndi, what a beautiful locale. Funerals, memorials, burials, they are all for those left behind. The cemetery is there for your comfort, for the good memories of those you loved and will meet again. ~ Julie

  4. Cyndi…. Im still trying to buy the pearl necklace you have wore. Could you please send the link? Or anyone out there do you know the link to buy it? Has anyone bought it? It’s the gold chain with the one single pearl.

    1. Favorite posts.also,’re back pants and mean pockets,I recalled a sewing class for great pants the instructor said the same thing about little pockets AND o be sure they are lined up with the back seam rather than on a slant.do not want the visuals to be with a wide beam

    2. Bloomingdale’s has the Baublebar Aprille necklace in stock and 25% off now. I think if you search here for “Bloomingdale’s” you can follow an old link from Cyndi’s blog to their site and she would get the commission. Or maybe she can post a new one for you. Good luck!

      1. Baublebar says on their listing “Please note: No two pearls are the same, so each necklace will have its own unique shape and size!” So no telling what shape you might get if you order sight unseen. I think they have it in stock now over there too if you want to share a link for that site as well.

  5. Love your backdrop, I can see why it is so special to you and was to your mom. We are conferencing from home and our rule is wear non stretch pants twice a week to ensure you will fit into your clothes when this is all done!!

  6. Two things on this post really resonated with me. The first is that you go to your moms grave to find peace and comfort and yes it is truly beautiful there. I do the exact same thing. My mother is buried in a beautiful, park like cemetery and I love to go sit underneath the big tree over her gravesite and talk to her. When I was still working full time and was having a stressful day I would stop by on my lunch hour or after work and it always seemed to calm my nerves. The other was your BFTH- Matthew 11:28-30 is one of my favorites. It bought such good memories when reading it today. And last I love all these outfits that we all have a variety of similar pieces in our closets. We just forgot how using these basics can create great outfits. Thank you, thank you 😊

  7. The cemetery looks beautiful. I liked all of the outfits, thanks for inspiring me to wear something other that yoga pants. We have been walking our lab 2 times a day so it has easier to just wear work out clothes. So tomorrow I will copy one of these simple looks.
My favorite place to recharge is the beach, just love seeing the waves crash and smell the sea air.

Thanks for all you do for us.

  8. Hi Cyndi, my name is Anna and I’m from israsl, and I really like your blog It inspires me, and I almost cried when I read the story about the cemitry. Generally I’m really happy that I get to read the things you write every day in such hard days for all of us

  9. Oh my goodness! You are Not just an inspiration but a blessing, but with that being said, I’m sure you could stand some words of encouragement as well! So, hang in there! You and I both know that the Lord is our strength and help in times of need. I have no doubt HE will see us through this. May we come out better and stronger than before. Blessings!!!

  10. Love every outfit. We can all shop our closets for those. :). When you told your story about the cemetery and your mom I could just feel the feeling. Sometimes I have to go be by my dads grave sight. This time we are in has caused a lot of meloncoly feelings. I’m doing ok, taking one day at a time, but find myself emotional on different things. A comforting thing I’ve been doing is watching The Walton’s reruns. 🙂 lol. When my day is over and I need to chill. I just can’t watch news at all anymore as I can feel my anxiety raise. Hang in there. Are you staying away still from your family? Not seeing grand kids is the hardest thing in all this.

  11. Good Morning Cyndi!
Thanks for a great post; I would wear all of those outfits, but especially love #1, 2, and 3! Love the inspiration to choose from what we already have in our closets, esp right now.
I have a question for you: do you have a big van where you can go in and change your clothes for each different shot? I think about all of the times in my life I have had to change clothes in the car and by the time I have “shimmied” up my jeans, I’m all sweaty! You look beautiful in every shot (I am sure some of that is due to your wonderful photographer, Wayne, but you’re so pretty)! Have a blessed day….have you read Psalm 91 in TPT (so wonderful!).

  12. Hi Cindi,
Thanks for sharing some fashion with us to take our mind off of what’s going on these days. I am so relieved they are not letting the Holland America ship to be off loaded in Florida because that’s where we live.
I do on the other hand feel awful for all the people involved on that ship that are ill and the folks who are not ill. I can’t begin to imagine the stress involved being in the predicament. Our thoughts are with them and we hope they will resolve this so they can get home safely.
I really like the hot pink jeans and I know they are out of stock. Who are they made by in case they are restocked?
    Thanks.

  13. Lovely setting. So beautiful and peaceful

I would wear #1 and #3. Are the Kit from the Kloth black jeans your favorite for fit?

  14. Thanks so much for sending messages like this every day. W&e all need something to take our minds off, at least for a few minutes, the bad and worse news coming at us from all directions, it seems. It is so comforting that you remind us of our faith. Having faith is not always easy, but we are being tried mightily now.
We are advised to wash our hands 20 seconds, don’t touch our faces, and stay at home if we don’t feel well. I would add to that to have a positive outlook and be kind!
P.S. Great outfits, beautiful lady inside and out.

  15. I would wear all of these outfits! It looks like my wardrobe. I know exactly how you feel about a cemetary being home. Our little country church cemetary is where all of my family is buried. It is a beautiful place in the country. My family has been buried there since the early 1800’s. My parents are both there. It is so calming to go and visit them. Thank you for sharing this today.

  16. Love all these outfits Cyndi. Thx for sharing. Glad you were able to get out a little bit. I’m hearing we may be inside through May now! I try to walk outside everyday, weather permitting, for some fresh air. God’s got this. We do not need to fear.. praise God!

  17. Not a big fan of camo, but I love coming up with different outfits from items already in my closet. Thanks for these ideas! The blooming trees in the background are spectacular.

  18. I have all but the leopard belt in my closet, great basics, and they all look great on you! Beautiful backdrop!

  19. Cyndi, I would def wear the black jeans outfit, albeit maybe not with a white tee, and the striped top/jeans outfit.

Can you find some summer tops/tees with longer or elbow length sleeves? These days all I see are my grandmother’s arms flapping back at me!

  20. I would most likely wear outfits 1, 3, and 4.. I would probably reach for my white jeans instead of the black especially as we move towards some nicer weather. It’s fun to shop our closets with ideas like these. On the blah days like today with rain and wind I find I reach for my comfy wear. Looking forward to your Monday post. The picture is beautiful with those big trees. I can see why you would go. I love to visit my moms cemetery though I know she’s in heaven, its up on a hill…
    Have a blessed day
    Karen

  21. I love your closet creations, please share some more! I have a striped top and leopard flats, but would not have thought to wear them together. Thanks for the inspiration and for continuing to post throughout these tough times.

  22. I love the outfits from your closet post. I feel better these days when I get dressed and wear some makeup, too. I walked in the cemetery in our neighborhood yesterday, and it was beautiful and peaceful. I would like a cute pajamas post about now. I like modest, notch-collar, button-up top ones that I can wear when my college boys are around. Have a blessed day!

  23. Cindy, I look forward to hearing from you each day! Your always so encouraging and honest! You clearly love the Lord and He is using your gifted ness in fashion to reach many! Keep up the great work!
    Blessings,
    Melissa

  24. Hello from Massachusetts Cyndi! I love that you styled outfits we can pull from our closets. I would have never thought to put the chambray shirt with the pink jeans. I love this look and have both. Stay well and God bless.

  25. I would most likely wear the stripped shirt and jeans. I have sooooo much in my closet that it is easy for me to find multiple outfits! Lol

I would love to go to my Moms grave but it’s in OH and I’m in NC. I usually go see her grave when I go visit my Dad (who is alive) at Fathers Dad and we go together…..a very special time we spend it together❤️

    Love and Blessings~
