Bright Colors for Dreary Days

Happy Friday, ladies! January is halfway over, and I have to say I’m not sad about it. It’s been cold here, and I’m already dreaming of spring.

This time of year, I love to wear bright colors, especially when the weather is dreary. Chico’s has some colorful tops that are perfect for a dreary day.

First, I’m styling a crew neck top in pink. It comes in several different colors. You can dress it up, or it would be cute with jeans and sneakers.

I added a scarf (I can’t find this one on Chico’s website) for a touch of leopard.

These jeggings are soft and I love the light color which is trending this year.

We get a lot of rain this time of year, so I added this rain jacket. It has a quilted inner layer for extra warmth, and it’s polyester, so no wrinkling.

Next, I’m styling a leopard print blouse in fire orange. I love the color and the ruffle detail around the neckline.

While light color jeans are trending, I still like to have some dark jeans in my wardrobe. Dark jeans are slimming and also dressier.

I did a front tuck and left the back out.

This leopard-print trench coat is perfect for cool days. It’s a buttery soft faux suede and has a touch of stretch. It can be worn belted or unbelted.

Chico’s has 25% off full-priced styles. All the pieces that I’m wearing are on sale.

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to stop by my blog. I’m also on FacebookPinterest, and Instagram.

Beauty For the Heart~~ I get the invitation every morning when I wake up to actually live a life of complete engagement, a life of whimsy, a life where LOVE DOES.

It doesn’t come in an envelope. It’s ushered in by a sunrise, the sound of a bird, or the smell of coffee drifting lazily from the kitchen.

It’s the invitation to actually LIVE, to fully participate in this amazing life for ONE MORE DAY. -Bob Goff

The LORD has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad. Psalm 118:24

Have a blessed day!

  1. I highly recommend the game Walk Like a Chicken!! It has become my grands favorite game and it’s so much fun for everyone!!! You can get it on Amazon. My favorite thing today is that leopard coat!!! Love it!!!
Keep us posted and hopefully pictures soon if your your closet renovation.

    1. This is what my blog designer sent me:

“after doing some research this is outside our control. The feed page was being cached and I did fix that so maybe it will just take some time for feedly to notice. As for now though there isn’t anything else I can do. The feed is actually updating properly on the site which means it’s an issue on feedly’s end.”

  2. I would love to hear more about that card game. Could you give us an update? Also you’ve mentioned the card game Rook. Is it fun? The YouTube version I watched to see how to play seemed confusing so I didn’t order it from Amazon. It must be old, as I can’t find it in local stores. Cute outfits.

      1. Thanks Cyndi. I’d like to try both games. Should I be getting and email from you if you answer a question like this? I don’t. I know you had asked us before if we were receiving them.

  3. I always love Chico’s! Thanx for sharing this.
Would also be interested in what games your family enjoys and recommends. In these days of isolation (we’re still in quarantine in our state) games would be fun to get back into. We love Mexican Train…has your family played that??

  4. Love the bright colors! We have had very little snow this winter and many days in the plus temps but I think next week they are about to drop! We’re a family that also enjoys card games! Have you all tried Phase 10? It’s fun and competitive lol! Happy weekend 💕

  5. I just finished listening to Bob Goff read his new book Dream Big. He has such a happy and soothing voice! Such positive messages. Thanks for this quote!

You are beautiful in these colors!

  6. Cyndi, this fire orange looks great on you. I have never shopped at a Chicos but this leopard trench is making me consider it. Happy Friday!

  7. Thanks for the bright colors today! We have a raging blizzard here so I appreciate the color on a very dreary day.

    Blessings

  8. Someone has probably mentioned this already, but your blog is no longer showing up in Feedly as of January 1. I added your blog again yesterday to my subscriptions and still didn’t get today’s post in my feed? Just wanted to let you know there may be a lot of people like me who use Feedly and are having this issue?
