White Elephant Gifts That Won’t Disappoint

If you are looking for a way to add a little fun and entertainment to your holiday gathering, look no further than a game of White Elephant. This game is similar to the ever-popular Dirty Santa, but instead, the gifts are a bit more… interesting.

Some may be funny, shocking, or just plain useless! Whatever the gifts may be, White Elephant is sure to bring a lot of laughs and fun to your holiday gathering.

Beauty for the Heart™~~Prepare your heart by stilling what has been distracting you. Jesus won’t try to shout over the noise in our lives. ~Bob Goff

“The LORD said, ‘Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the LORD, for the LORD is about to pass by. ‘Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper” (1 Kings 19:11-12, NIV).

The Lord told Elijah to stand on the mountain in His presence, but He didn’t come in the ways Elijah (or we) would have expected: in a wind, earthquake, or even a fire. He came in a gentle whisper.

In the Hebrew language, the phrase for “gentle whisper” is Kol D’mama Daka, meaning “the sound of thin silence.” That’s where the Lord meets us: in the thin silence.

Today, let’s quiet our hearts so we can hear His gentle whisper.

Let your beauty shine from the inside out today!

  1. Do you still have your little dog? I haven’t seen him lately. He looks a lot like my dog. Thanks for all you do, I enjoy your blog!

  2. PS Going down to 3 gifts is perfect. I never did get where I went over, as I knew it would be harder and harder as my family got older to find more gifts for everyone etc. Well, I can’t say I never went over. LOL Plus, it can get out of hand. I always had the saying to tell my kids that the Wisemen brought Jesus 3 gifts, so we do the same. 🙂 LOL Now that they are adults, I do 2 each and usually 2 each for their babies now, but but I know that will be hard once they are bigger. 🙂 I find the earlier I shop, then I want to keep buying, as I find other things. 🙂

  3. Love, Love, Love the BFTH. I did Pricilla Shirer’s bible study “Elijah” this last Spring and it was sooo good and I studied this passage in your BFTH. I LOVE that our Lord speaks to us so gentle. I highly recommend this bible study if you are looking for one for your woman’s group or just to do alone. You can rent the videos. That is what I did, as I hadn’t gone back to my woman’s group yet, but now am. I don’t have an Christmas parties to attend, but these are some funny gift ideas. I like the Senior tote bag.

  4. We play Dirty Santa, so not funny gifts just ones that someone can take. The amount this year is $25 do you have ideas? There is a mix of old and not so old as well as men and women.

  5. Cute – when we were growing up if we did a “white elephant” exchange it was New or Fairly new items that you already owned but never used so kinda like regifting…..when we were really young I know our family actually did “used” gifts that were actually “used” but never used anymore (ha)
