It’s time to talk winter fashion, which means dressing in layers, cozy sweaters, boots, and warm coats, and Kohl’s has plenty of winter fashion essentials for the season.

Beating the Chill in Style: Winter Fashion Essentials

When the temperatures drop, I tend to reach for a comfortable outfit that still looks put together, like this outfit from Kohl’s.

I always get asked if scarfs are still in style, and this is my answer: if it’s cold outside and you will be out in it, a scarf is in style! They’re warm, and there are lots of cute scarves to choose from.

This plaid scarf comes in several colors; I’m wearing pink.

I’m also wearing a Columbia Faux Fur Trimmed Jacket. It’s water-resistant, has two front zippered pockets, and it’s fully lined.

There’s nothing better on a cold winter’s day than a warm pair of boots! These UGG boots have a slight wedge heel, buckle detail, and pull-on for easy on and off.

This Croft & Barrow cable sweater comes in several colors; I’m wearing the wine cable color.

I paired the sweater and boots with Levi’s straight leg jeans. These jeans work great when you want to wear a taller boot.

Beauty for the Heart™-I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

Truth: To “see” the Lord’s goodness is not always about immediate miracles or grand interventions. It’s about recognizing the small, quiet moments of grace in our daily lives. It’s the unexpected kindness of a stranger, the comfort of a loved one’s embrace, the quiet whisper of peace during a moment of fear.

As you go about your day, look around and see the Lord’s goodness!

  1. I love all these pieces today – I’ve had my eye on this Columbia coat for awhile. I just might pull the trigger. I also love the quote in the intro this morning – so true.

  2. The Hersheys Cookies sound delectable and delightful, however, what size Hersheys did you use? Snack size, or regular sized bars.

  3. I bought a couple of cashmere like scarves at Kohl’s. They’re really nice and sold out in the store. I think it’s infinity scarves that are supposed to be out. Watch them be in next year. That’s why I am getting tired of trends. I’m going to try to stick to classics and not disposable clothes.

  4. I love the outfit you styled today! Simple and cozy. I always love cable knit sweaters. I haven’t heard of Dr. Caroline Leaf, but I think that quote is a great reminder. Thank you, Cyndi!

  5. Love everything about this warm cozy outfit. Also love the quote. So true as I’m running around trying to be ready for my family coming today. I read a book by Caroline Leaf. She’s really smart.

  6. Love the outfit, especially the boots! I love Dr. Caroline Leaf, she use to come to the church we went to back in Illinois. Have a blessed Friday and great weekend!

  7. I like your logic on the scarf question! And when it’s really cold, I will still be tucking my pants inside knee high fur lined boots!

  8. Kohls just opened a new store in our town. I will be shopping there soon.
I just wanted to mention that I avoid UGG products because I will not buy from a manufacturer that kills animals for the skin to make shoes. It is different from shearing sheep in the spring. That does not harm animals but skinning them does. Perhaps you are not aware of the boycott of Ugg that happened several years ago. Thanks for letting me vent.

  9. I love reading your blog. I feel like I have a friend in you. Your blog always lift my spirit up if i’m a little down. Thank you very much. Love your friend. Some of my friends call me Kay because that’s my middle name.i hope you have a very blessed day, stay safe Miss Cyndi.
