6 Ways to Wear Olive Shorts

Now that it’s July, we are in full summer mode! If you’ve picked up some summer basics, like olive shorts, I thought I would share several ways to wear them. You could also grab an olive skirt, like the one I styled here and wear it with these tops too.

My olive shorts are from EVEREVE, and they’re a little pricey, but I have styled these shorts from JCPenney in white and black, and they have them in the olive color (they call them oregano). They were sold out, but they have them back online, and they’re on sale for $10.20!

Here are 6 ways to wear olive shorts this summer:

1. White Blouse

Have you added olive shorts to your summer wardrobe? They’re a great addition, and they can be styled lots of different ways!

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to stop by my blog. I’m also on FacebookPinterest, and, Instagram.

Beauty For the Heart~~

It isn’t the thing you do, dear,
It’s the thing you leave undone,
Which gives you the bitter heartache
At the setting of the sun;

The tender word unspoken,
The letter you did not write,
The flower you might have sent, dear,
Are your haunting ghosts at night.

The stone you might have lifted
Out of your brother’s way,
The bit of heartfelt counsel
You were hurried too much to say;
The loving touch of the hand, dear,
The gentle and winsome tone,
That you had no time or thought for,
With troubles enough of your own.

These little acts of kindness,
So easily out of mind,
These chances to be angels,
Which even mortals find
They come in night and silence,
To take away the grief,
When hope is faint and feeble,
And a drought has stopped belief

For life is all too short, dear.
And sorrow is all too great,
To allow our slow compassion
That tarries until too late.
And it’s not the thing you do, dear,
It’s the thing you leave undone,
Which gives you the bitter heartache,
At the setting of the sun.

  1. Hey Cyndi,
All the outfits are just my style! I just bought 3 pair of Ana shorts and I love them! Thank you for the BFTH today. My best friend of 33 years has been diagnosed with cancer for the second time. I feel as though I am standing by and doing nothing for her. In reality I know that I am doing a lot in friendship and prayer. The pain is immeasurable. BFTH is perfect today! Thank you

  2. The photo of the sunset is gorgeous!! You are so blessed because you see this beautiful sunset and sunrise everyday! It is also God saying I’ve got this!!
Thank you for expressing kindness in your awesome blog!😊

  3. Hi Cindy,
I so enjoy your christian messages and blog posts. I love your sky picture. My family calls that a “Holy Spirit” sky. Happy 4th of July!

  4. These shorts are great. I’ve really been into Olive this summer for some reason and I love the ragged edge to them.

  5. You look amazing in all of these options Cyndi! Did you find the Amazon belt TTS? I really do like the look and I normally wear a 28 waist in shorts/pants/jeans so I’m a bit torn between a Small or Medium.
Love the BFTH today as always! Thanks for offering your lovely fashion sense as well as promoting your faith and love of Jesus!

  6. Hi Cyndi,

What would you wear to an after 5:00pm outdoor wedding reception in August in South Pasadena, CA. Invitation said summer cocktail attire!

Also, would a nice black jumpsuit be appropriate?

    Thank you.

  7. Great post, Cyndi! Thank you for all of the great ideas! I too would love to know about your rug. We just moved and I am looking for something similar for one of our rooms. Thank you! Blessings!

  8. All of these combos look great! I always love olive green and black, but you gave me some more ideas!

    1. I’m especially blessed from your little meditation at the end.
      Thanks for that.
      Keep staying strong for Jesus!

  9. I especially enjoy your posts with multiple ways to wear one item! I have ‘olive’ pants and capris, need to find shorts – maybe even a skirt? They’re all cute but my personal favorite is with the chambray shirt. And…that sunset is gorgeous!

  10. I love posts like this.. I don’t have olive green shorts but I’m thinking now I need a pair… I may check old navy or the Gap.. I do have olive green pants and linen joggers so these tops can also work.. beautiful poem and beautiful sunset.. I love having lots of land and your area looks gorgeous:)
    Have a great day
    Blessings
    Karen

  11. The beauty of the sunset is what I call God’s canvas! And the BFTH love that poem, I’ve never seen that before. It was just what I needed to read this morning to start my day. Thank you for your time, talent and treasures you share Cyndi.

  12. Hey Cyndi–what size did you order in the belts you are wearing? Thanks for all the ideas!

  13. Love these color combos! I also really like the belts. Can you give us a size reference on those? Thanks!

  14. So glad you did this post about olive shorts. I just purchased some olive capris and the only color I could think of to wear with them is black. I’m glad you gave me some more options.

  15. It’s so helpful to see all the different shirts that go with those olive shorts! Thanks for showing us. I’m remodeling my house and I love your rug. Can you give details please.

  16. Beautiful Sunset, would make a great painting to go on a wall.
Only God makes Pictures like that!

  17. I love olive green! I already have green shorts. I agree…olive really is a neutral, and goes with so many other colors. I like every one of the tops you featured. AND, I really Love your hair in these pics—so straight and shiny!

  18. Hi Cyndi,
I always enjoy your blog!! Your office looks great. I know you are enjoying it very much. Could you share where you ordered your rug and the name of it as well?
    Thank you!!

  19. I think olive is yet another ‘new’ neutral and you always look good in everything, but I could never spend $70 for a pair of cut off shorts!

    1. I just love the Beauty For the Heart today ( well I always love it!) Creating Holy moments through kindness within our days is so impactful for both us and others. Love all the different ways you styled these shorts too. I think olive is a great neutral color for any style of shorts and skirts ❤️

  20. Good morning.
    I love your blog.
I have missed a couple of posts.
Can you update me on what Wayne is doing now, why you guys move so much, and what your plans are for this house.

  21. Love, love, love, the poem!
I remember you mentioning that you were buying those belts, and they look really cute, as do all the outfits!
