Makeup Hit and Misses

I thought I would share some of my makeup up hit and misses with you. All but one of the products are from IT cosmetics because I’m a huge fan of their products.

Makeup Hit and Misses

I use the CC cream with SPF 50+ on my face. I love that it has such a high SPF because it protects me from any harmful sun damage.

I use the Bye Bye Pores Pressed Anti-Aging Finishing Powder but I’m out of it at the moment. I’m using the Bye Bye Pores Silk HD Anti-Aging Micro-Powder and I personally don’t like it as well.

I recently purchased the IT Cosmetics Confidence in a Compact SPF 50+ and I didn’t like it as well as the CC cream. I was also excited to try the Confidence in Your Glow with the Heavenly Skin One-Sweep Wonder Brush. I have tried to use it several times and I’m not loving the results. Has anyone tried this product and liked it??

IT cosmetics has some amazing brushes and I use the Heavenly Skin Skin-Smoothing Complexion Brush #704 to apply my foundation. I also use one to two drops of the Bare Minerals Bronzer (I have talked about this product before and I love it).

Makeup Hit and MissesLastly, I use the Bye Bye Under Eye Anti-Aging Concealer. It really helps cover up my dark circles!

Have you tried IT cosmetics?? What are your favorite products?

Thank you for taking time out of your day to stop by my blog. I’m on FacebookPinterest and my favorite one, Instagram.

  1. I didn’t care for the IT Cc cream. I however do like Peter Thomas Roth Cc cream. As for concealer, I cannot begin to tell you how many I have tried, but Clarins has been the best hands down. These are just my experiences. What I do now, I go to Ulta and try different products. They are also good on returns.

  2. I am in love with the IT cosmetics mascara. I don’t have naturally long lashes – id say mine are average and the mascara does wonders! i have tried so many through the years! Side note I just have to say I love that you post about Jesus on Sundays!!! xoxo katie

  3. Cindy…thank you so much for this post! I was in such a make up rut, I went out and bought the It cc cream, pressed powder and sheer sun. My skin has looked and felt great for the past week. Can anyone please tell me approximately how long a tube lasts? I only use a tiny bit, but it’s hard to tell how much is in the tube. Thank you!

  4. I have been using IT Cosmetics CC Cream for 5+ years and absolutely love it for coverage and SPF. I tried Tarte Amazonian Clay recently and wanted to love it but I didn’t. I also love IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Illumination. I think their brushes are good but not as good as the reviews suggest. Their other products are hit or miss, mostly miss for me. I have one of their eye shadow shadow pallets that I like but I think Mally is my fav eye shadow. BTW I love Mally eye shadow pencils. Yes, I’m a makeup junkie !

    1. I use Suzanne Somersault makeup line because of her commitment to organic and non-toxic products. I have been happy with the foundation, lipsticks, lip pencils, and powder. Not a fan of the mascara, so I use a different brand of that. Cosmetics are not regulated by the FDA (not that this agency really does us any favors anyway), so harmful chemicals are in makeup. Women are ingesting alarming amounts of lead in their lipstick and Lord knows what else in other products. Whatever makeup line you choose, please know what’s in it and demand accountability from the manufacturer. We are being inundated with harmful chemicals in our food, water, and yes, even our makeup. It will continue unless we demand otherwise.

  5. I just started, using IT cosmetics and just love the Bye Bye Makeup 3 in 1 cleansing balm, the Bye Bye Lines serum, the Illuminating CC cream in medium, the BYe Bye undereye illumation, Bye Bye Pores Illumination translucent powder, Je Ne Sais Quoi lipstick in ROse, Heavenly Skin CC plus skin perfecting brush #702, Bye Bye Pores brush #701. I purchased these items as today’s special value on The Shopping Channel, which is the Canadian version of QVC. I love all of these products and really love how they smell! It’s such a good value to purchase them in the kits! Oh almost forgot I have on order a bye bye pores blusher and can’t wait until it arrives!

  6. Love the It 50 CC cream which my 30 something daughter also uses. I’m 68 and I like it better than any foundation I’ve used!

  7. I’m using It Cosmetics CC+50spf uva/uvb and Bye Bye Pores Translucent and Laura Geller Blush and Brighten and love it. Have used last three years or more. It stays on til I remove it at night with my night cleaning products. I just bought It Confindence in a Compact Medium with sponge and love it too. Same protection.

  8. I’ve never experimented with any of the products lines mentioned…personally, I am a Mary Kay gal. I’ve been using the entire product line since I was 26 – and everyone tells me I don’t look 45! Love it! Even through tennis and working out, my make up stays put. I’m a believer…so much so, I even became a consultant because I love the product line. We have an amazing under eye corrector and CC cream….the best part is MK backs every product with a satisfaction guarantee! Love it!

  9. When I watched the tutorial from it on the cc cream it said and showed it would correct/cover the dark circles under our eyes. Does it not work that well for you that you are using an added product for under eye anti aging and dark circle coverage?

  10. I have tried a lot of foundations and the best by far is Arbonne Perfecting Foundation. I didn’t like the IT CC cream and returned it (last year). Tarte’s Maracuja Creaseless Concealer is a dream and truly is creaseless! I thought I liked Bye Bye Under Eye until I realized how badly is creases….love Tarte so much more. These are two products I won’t be without!!

    1. I agree with you! The It Cosmetics products that everyone raves about have never worked for me. I also prefer Tarte so much more and always have good luck with their products. I haven’t tried their Creaseless Concealer yet, but plan on purchasing it soon. I absolutely love Tarte’s eyeshadows and blushes.

  11. Bobbie Brown has a great under eye concealer/powder combo. Lots of colors for dif skin tones. I’ve used it for years. For those looking for a good make up primer Boots#7 has a great one and the little tube goes a long way! For eye shadow primer I use MAC and the color painterly. You can use it as a shadow or a base. My eye shadow never bushes even in 100 degree weather! I’ve also used the benefit one but prefer the MAC.

  12. I purchased the confidence in your glow and heavenly brush set from QVC and I really like it. I got it in the nude color after reading some of the reviews that the others were too bold. It gives my face a sun tanned look without the damage of the sun.

  13. Was a big fan of bare minerals for a long time, then I tried IT and fell in love… even gave away all of my BE products… bought LOTS of IT and then my daughter began selling Senegense and once again, I’ve “fallen in love” with their tinted moisturizer. Maybe I’m not “fickle” about what I love and change so much, maybe it’s just because I’m getting older. haha

  14. For summer I like to use Maybelline dream BB fresh, it’s light and not greasy on my skin and has spf 30. When I want a little more coverage I blend it with my regular foundation, Ultra HD Make Up Forever.

  15. Hi Cyndi- do you use the concealer under your foundation or over it? The order that you talked about the products made me think you apply it over, but I wanted to be sure. Thank you!

    1. I am a Limelight by Alcone Beauty Guide and we are trained to put it over. You of course can use under to cover blemishes etc but over will contour and brighten your face

  16. Hi Cyndi, can you please give a demo on how you apply your foundation with the #704 foundation brush and how you apply the bronzer? I would be very interested in seeing the techniques. I am ready to learn and try some new products. I recently switched to a Channel foundation and not real happy with it. Thanks a bunch!

  17. Just switched to Bare Minerals. Used the app to scan my skin to get a match. I personally like it better than my IT products because it truly is the best match I’ve been able to achieve.

  18. I like the IT CC cream, but it makes my skin feel/look dry in the winter months. I’m using Josie Maran Vibrancy foundation and love it! The Bare Minerals All-Over Face Color in “a little sun” suits me best. I can add it where I need a little more color and it makes my skin look like I’ve been out in the sun for just the right amount of time. My sister gave me a sample of Rodan and Fields “Redefine” Multi-Function Eye Cream and I am hooked! I had tried everything I could get my hands on to reduce puffiness and dark circles. This is the first eye cream that has made a significant improvement! I’m now phasing out of my skin care and changing to Rodan and Fields.

  19. I use all of the iT Cosmetic’s that you use and I LOVE them all!!! Hands down, the best make-up I’ve ever used. I was a Bare Minerals devotee for over 16 yrs but it never looked as good on me as the iT products….so I switched. Haven’t looked back. I’m also loving the Confidence in your Glow compact blush and it’s also my favorite, hands down. I apply it lightly using a fan brush and always get perfect results. Thanks for sharing what you use.

  20. Cyndi,

A while back you were using Hourglass Foundation. I had to go get it and try it!!!! Oh my goodness….LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!! It goes on like butter and covers beautifully!!! The only drawback is of course the price. I generally only use it for church and/or if I am going out. Otherwise, I use a less expensive foundation. 🙂

  21. Great tips, thank you Cindi! I just started using Buca Botanicals about a month ago. All natural, no chemicals and especially good for my dry/mature skin. 😉 I am looking for some eye primer that will let my liner and mascara last longer. Any recommendations?

  22. I tried IT cosmetics under eye concealer, and it is ok. Their mascara is excellent though! I don’t think there is ANY product that will work on my under-eye puffiness and circles. I have tried simply everything…😞

  23. Bye Bye Under Eye is the only reason I don’t look dead every day. Love the stuff! I use the Mary Kay CC cream (SPF 30) and like it. Most spf stuff is too greasy for me, which is weird b/c I have drier skin.
I recently purchased one of their blush brushes to replace an old one, I like it…but it’s a little fluffy and doesn’t allow as much control as my previous one–though maybe that one was fluffier when I bought it a million years ago.

  24. I love It cosmetics CC Cream and concealer. I haven’t tried the Byebye undereye but would like to. I thought about buying the compact but after reading your post glad I didn’t.

  25. Hi Cyndi, I’m a Bare Minerals girl all the way! I’ve tried It Cosmetics but I have to say I always return to my Bare Minetals! My friend loves their bye bye under eye cream and loves it. I guess I’m used to my minerals. I have to say I love ❤️ your blog.

  26. I use the Bye Bye under eye anti aging concealer and love it. I have the CC cream, but I think it’s too heavy for me. I like the celebration powder foundation better for myself. I want to get the micro powder to complete the finish.

  27. Unfortunately I didn’t have much luck with the IT CC cream . It was very greasy on my skin even when I used a finishing powder. The products with Spf usually do that on me. Still searching for the right one.

    1. I thought the same thing, Marie. The CC cream is greasy and heavy to me. I’m glad it works for the others.

  28. IT Superhero mascara is great! I have tried MANY different brands, and this is by far my favorite one!

  29. I use the IT products, including the CC Cream + 50 and love it. I bought the new Confidence in a compact and didn’t like it as much. I felt that the color didn’t match as well and it didn’t feel as good on my skin as the CC Cream does. I use all of their brushes and LOVE them!!! I use the loose powder as a setting powder and am happy with that. I recently bought the compact that has the highlighter and contour set and am loving that too! It’s a fantastic product line overall and the best I’ve used to date. I worked 5 years in the beauty business and have tried many over those years as well as personally on myself and haven’t found anything I liked better.

  30. I use the CC cream and the Bye Bye Under Eye. I really like both products. I have also tried their eyeshadow and like it as well. I try to wait until QVC has the CC cream on sale. It’s a better deal because you get 2 oz instead of 1oz for a good price.

  31. I used Bye Bye Foundation and I really like it. I tried the CC Cream and didn’t like it at all. I also use the Your Most Beautiful You™ Anti-Aging Matte Bronzer, Radiance Luminizer & Brightening Blush Palette and The Naturally Pretty Eye Shadow Palette. The eyeshadows are amazing! And, so are their brushes

  32. I also bought the Heavenly GLow and the brush for it. I was floored when it rang up at about $100. I took it home. It’s okay – nothing spectacular – and I have other products that do even better.

  33. I just started using the bye bye under eye € i really like it. I have tried lots of other products that cake up € just draw attention to the under eye. I also bought the tinted skun blurring powder. I like it as well. I think its always hard knowing how to use bronzers.

  34. I love the Bye Bye Under Eye for a concealer also. I usually purchase IT Cosmetics through QVC. They have awesome values and larger sizes. I love watching their demos when they have a show. Very informative!

    1. Kim, I use the Bye Bye Under Eye. I have olive skin and I mix the medium and the tan. I used to use the tan, but I’m trying not to get much sun this summer. the medium is a little light for me.
