The pain and suffering will not last forever, and I’m so thankful when I go through it that Jesus is with me. I can’t imagine going through it without Him!

Cyndi, I am praying for Courtney, Caroline, and your whole family. I can only imagine how scary and stressful this is. I know personally of a baby delivered in June at 27 weeks weighing 1 lb. 12 oz. She is doing great. I know these first few months will be difficult for everyone. Prayers will continue.
Cyndi, our family is in a very similar situation right now. Our daughter-in-law was due with twin girls at the end of September but delivered three months early, June 22. Babies weighing 8-11 pounds is the norm for our family, so the two little babies at 2 pounds was a shock. We, too, cannot see these sweet girls yet, but we are helping watch their 2 young boys. May God give your family strength and encouragement as He is doing for us.

I am praying for you and your family. Your faith is strong. Jesus is with you, as you have said many times. You are strong to not focus on the why and instead lean into the what. What will bring God glory in this situation? What will strengthen me? What is His will? God bless and comfort you.

Hi Cyndi, I had a little baby boy that weighed 2.5 lbs when he was first born. He went down to 1 lb something while in the NICU. IT WAS CRAZY BUT I never worried or feared the whole time. I could feel Gods peace all over me and He let me know that this baby has a purpose in life and that He has plans for his future. I stood on Gods word. Of course I’m human and the devil would always try and put negative thoughts in my head but I had more faith in what God was telling me than what the devil was trying to put in my head. Today that little baby will soon be a perfect 24 year old (no health problems at all) and he is in love with JESUS and God is using him! I just wanted to encourage you and your family with my story.

You are so right on with BFTH. I actually posted something similar just this morning about life being hard. I have recently read some books about Heaven and it encourages me to look at life and the hardships we face from a different perspective. For those who have placed their faith and hope in Jesus, we have so much more to look forward to than what we leave behind. As for the here and now- Nothing is Wasted! He makes ALL things New… and redeems it all! <3

My grandma always called her our little miracle, because God made her whole and perfect, despite all the things that “could have” gone wrong. God is no respecter of persons. I was born 72 years ago as a preemie weighing 3 lbs. 6 oz. before NICU had come to be! My parents were told to bring me home because I would get better care there! They hired a nurse to assist them! I graduated high school and college with a teaching degree and taught 39 years in the public schools. God has great plans for your seeet granddaughter!
I can’t even imagine going through life without Jesus there to help me through. Your mom was right – we don’t understand but as long as we trust Him all is well.

Sweet Cyndi! I am lifting up your family in my prayers! Our life experiences are similar…I gave birth to my (now 19 year old) daughter 3 months early back in 2001 as the towers were hit in NYC. She was 2lbs. 2 oz. God was with her -and us- every step of the way giving us that peace of His that surpasses all understanding. She was a healthy girl! I’m telling you this to vive you comfort-and HOPE that all will be well!! God has you all!!
Now, my sweet Mama is suffering with advanced cancer- breast cancer that is also all throughout her body. They cannot treat/cure it, only treat the symptoms. So our circumstances are similar- but switched around. God’s peace is with me again-and I pray you feel it as well. ❤🙏 Again- you all have my prayers!

Oh Cyndi, I’ll be praying for you and Courtney and her family and of course Caroline. If you need to take some time off the blog to attend to family and especially since you have Colt and Claire, you should. You know we all love to hear from you, but you need to do what you need to do for you and your family. My daughters first baby, our first grandchild was born a month and a half early. She went into labor on vacation, 3 hrs. from their house and 5 hours from ours. She was rushed into c-section and we found out when they facetimed us with my daughter holding our sweet new granddaughter. They were told she would be in NICU for at least a month and they were given the Ronald McDonald house to live in for free. Long story short, they were only in the NICU for 2 weeks and she now is going to be 2 yrs. old next month and she is the most healthy, happy, smart little girl. God answered many prayers during that trying time and my daughter and her husband went through a lot, but in the end, they all are bonded so tight and saw how God was with them the whole way. He knew when their daughter was going to be born and he had it under control, just as he does for baby Caroline. I’m glad you shared this with us and I will be praying. Please keep us updated as Courtney allows. I understand totally about their privacy. I’ll be praying for you and Wayne too. You have a lot too and ever since you told what your mom said before she died, I have used that to tell others and my family many, many times. Its soooo true. God can be trusted, even when we don’t understand Him. So happy everyone is okay. Blessings.

Awww Cyndi that baby will be so good! So many wonderful medical changes will help Caroline grow into a beautiful happy little girl. My twin girls were 2 months early weight 3lb6oz and 3lb 8 oz. After 5 weeks in the NICU they came home. They were happy beautiful babies who have grown into amazing women with babies of their own. My prayers are coming your way. My own daughter was a premie weighing in at 3 pounds 8 ounces. This was 40 years ago. The doctors can do wonderous things now. Your sweet Caroline will be in good hands. My own daughter was on a respirator with an NG tube for feeding. I am so thankful she is well and happy at 40 years old.
Prayers for your family. My nephew was born 10 weeks early. He is now over 6 feet tall, married and father to two beautiful children. God is good.
I’m praying for your granddaughter and your family. My newest granddaughter was born last month full term but with pulmonary hypertension and a severe infection. When she was flown from the NICU at the delivering hospital to the cardiac NICU at St. Louis Children’s we did not know if she would be able to survive. But God is awesome and NICU’s are amazing and she is now home and thriving! Praying Caroline does as well!
Hey Cyndi, praying for you and all the family. I had twin girls 30 years ago and they were 2 months premature, they were in nicu a month. One weighed 3’7 and the other 4’4. They’ll be 31 this year and both had a baby in 2020. I surely believe Caroline will do great.

Cyndi, I will add your family to my prayer list. NICU is a roller coaster ride, but medical advances have greatly increased the chances of a wonderful outcome. As encouragement, I’ll share with you that our grandson was a 1 lb 14 oz preemie. We have been blessed to watch him grow into a happy, healthy, and bright 7 year old. God is good.

Thank you for your authentic share. I was a NICU nurse many moons ago. The thing to know is 3 pounders are strong, resilient, and beautiful. They were my favorites! While it is hard to wait for their growth and maturity in feeding and breathing, they amazed me. Now I know how to pray for your family. Plus, having just been recovering from a car accident caused by someone else, I too trust God when I don’t understand.

Sending prayers to your family. I know exactly what your daughter is going through. Both my daughters were born prematurely each at 29 weeks and a few days. One was 2 lbs 7 oz and the other was 3 lb 8 oz. They are now 24 and 21, and doing wonderfully! Our NICU staff was a God send to us, and I am sure that the NICU staff taking care of Caroline is top notch too! Pretty soon she will be coming home! God is good, all the time. Blessings- Jolene
