The Shacket Trend for Fall

Let me begin by saying I was on the anti-shacket train. I was convinced they weren’t for me. But, I started to see how they could be great layering pieces, and I found some I really like. Now I can’t get enough of them!

What is a shacket, you ask? A shacket is the ultimate layering piece that effortlessly combines a shirt and a jacket. From lightweight materials to warm wooly textiles, there’s a shacket for everyone.

First, let’s talk about how to wear a shacket.

You can wear a women’s shirt jacket with almost anything. A shacket is multi-talented; you can wear it as a coat or over your favorite tee when the weather turns chilly.

Whether styling for work or play, day or night, shackets are a versatile layering option for any season.

What do you wear under a shacket?

You can wear just about anything under a shacket. When it comes to tops, choose from tees, tanks, turtlenecks, and lightweight sweaters.

The shacket I’m wearing from EVEREVE is more of a coat shacket. I wore this when I went trick or treating with my grandkids.

This one from Amazon is a less expensive option. I would recommend sizing down with most shackets.

Have you tried the shacket trend yet?

Raye Plaid Shacket (I’m wearing an XS, Less expensive option HERE) • Good American Jeans (TTS, I’m wearing a size 6, Less expensive option HERE) • Sorel Lennox Lace Boot (I sized up 1/2 size, Less Expensive option HERE) • Mockneck top (not online yet) • Earrings

Check out these cute shackets:

Beauty for the Heart™~~ And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful. Colossians 3:15

Truth: Paul talks about thanks multiple times in the book of Colossians. I love how He’s sharing about peace but reminds us of the importance of thankfulness in the Christian life at the end of the verse.

Even on our worst days, we can find things to be thankful for.

Let your beauty shine from the inside out today!

  1. Yes I LOVE the Shacket! I have one just like the black & white one you showed (7th one down) but I got it from Glamour Farms. I have another that’s yellow & white plaid (more of a straw color) & it’s sunshine-y & happy. Also a brown/chocolate color. They’re so so warm, cozy & comfortable! I put mine on & left it on the entire day, because it felt so good. 😊 Yours is a gorgeous blue!

  2. I was the same way…. Thinking not for me but I bought one and love it. Mine has side pockets, not too heavy and shirt length but A-little longer in the back and black, beige and terracotta plaid. :). I’ve been eyeing the coat one you have on, but think I’m too short for it. Love the blue colors. I’ll have to check out all these you posted as I just might need another one. 😉 lol.

  3. Yup this year I bought my first shacket and I love it! I bought a plain neutral color so for me I didn’t feel like a lumber jack lol.
    Love all these option!

  4. I don’t think they are for me. I’ve tried on a couple. They just seem too country or something. That’s why trends are fun. You can pick the ones that suit your personality and lifestyle.

  5. I don’t want to be the negative one, but I don’t think they are for me, although you look adorable in everything.

  6. I had to let this one grow on me as well… but I did just purchase on, it looks like the Thread & Supply pic above. I do think I like it!!

I love those jeans with the blue and grey Shacket, looks great!!

    You’re adorable sweet lady!

    Blessings,
    Joni

  7. You look beautiful and hip in everything! Thank you for all you do! Your grandchildren are all so beautiful too! 😇

  8. What a great outfit! I have two shackets in my closet, with one of them being my larger size, which it too big. When I ordered one in a lighter shade, I sized down and it fits much better.

    1. Same feelings about the shacket! I just bought a longer plaid one but it’s not country or lumber Jack looking at all. It’s a soft pretty black and neutral plaid and I can wear with jeans or with black pants to work. I also found a trendy more casual one that’s a very soft fleece. I think these 2 are all I need though!

  9. I love the shirt-jacket because it’s generally shorter then the shacket and I have the hourglass shape so I have hips that I don’t like to emphasize larger. so I don’t think this style will be one to grow on me 😊 but I do love the plaid shirts that I use as A jacket or cardigan over tees. I love the plaid shirts over sleeveless blouses too.

  10. Thanks for all the great options today. The shacket has grown on me too 😊. P.S. I think the scripture reference you meant is Colossians 3:15 😉 Have a blessed day!

    1. I love your blog, I read it everyday for at least four years. I guess I started the Shacket many years ago. Haha. I’m cold natured and have always put on a large shirt over my clothes.
      Love the new look.

  11. I just wanted to say your post lately have been right on. I appreciate everything! I especially like the way you give different price options for us. I love the BFTH. I also like the variety you post. I love seeing something different everyday . I just wanted to say I’m Thankful for you and your blog. Have a Blessed day!
