Celebrating Dad Today!

Today I get to celebrate with this amazing man! There’s no way I could put into words what he means to me. Since losing Mom our family has felt such a tremendous loss but Dad has been our rock. I love him so much!

Celebrating Day Today!

I think I’ve shared this before, but in honor of Father’s day I’ll share it again. After Mom passed away, I was going through my baby books and Mom hadn’t written down a conversation that she and I had when I was 4 years old. It went like this:

Mom: “Cyndi you think you’re Daddy hung the moon!”

Me: “He did! and Jesus helped him.”

I still think my Daddy hung the moon!

**I am well aware that Father’s day can be a difficult day if you have lost your father. I know the pain of losing a parent. But thankfully we have a heavenly father and He loves us more than we can ever imagine.

This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 1 John 4:10

Have a blessed day!

  1. What a sweet story and such a blessing to have your Dad there with y’all. Squeeze his neck an extra time today. My Dad went home very unexpectedly in an auto accident 1 mile from home on December 5, 2001 and this day, although difficult, is a blessing to be able to remember him and his loving legacy he left in all of us. He lived his life every day serving the Lord in one capacity or another. He never saw a stranger and had a smile and a kind word or a tease for everyone. Always humming or whistling while he was busy with working on something other. Had a plain hamburger with a piece of pie and coffee with lots of sugar every day at lunch at a small café in town. And usually paid some one else’s tab without them knowing. Not a wealthy man by far, unless you count all his friends and people who admired and respected him. One day, I will see my dad again and spend my days with him worshiping my Heavenly Father. Blessings!

  2. What a touching story and a great picture of you and your Dad, Cyndi! I admire the strength and love he has had to keep his loving family together, particularly after losing his beloved wife. Aren’t Dads wonderful?
I called my Dad today and just knowing WHY and WHAT I was calling him for made me excited, like I was 6 years old again. My Dad is my hero, always has been and always will be. What a joy it was to hear him answer the phone and me to say, “HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!”

  3. Great photo Cyndi. I lost my dad 15 mos ago. We all miss him but have complete peace knowing he is with our Savior! He lived a long life… 87 yrs… It was time for him To go home. It’s hardest on my mom of course. She is 8 yrs younger than my dad but looks ten yrs younger than she actually is!! God bless her. Praying for Traci.. What an amazing experience she will have I’m sure 🙂

  4. as always, your spiritual message was spot on. Thank you. My father also celebrated his 92nd birthday and now Fathers Day. He is still missing Mom after her homegoing nearly 7 yrs ago. Everything seems to be tinged with her leaving. Being together for 66 yrs was something to be thankful for.

  5. What a lovely picture of you and your dad! My dad passed away 6 years ago and I still miss him terribly. Yet I can celebrate the wonderful father he was and the treasured memories. He was the best dad!! I know we will be together again some day…with my mom who has passed away, too. That gives me great comfort! Hope everyone enjoys Father’s Day!
