Weary Traveler-Beauty For the Heart™

I hope you’re enjoying your weekend. It’s been chilly and rainy here, and I was able to stay home all day yesterday, which was so nice.

A few weeks ago, we traveled in our RV to Texas. We visited several places, including San Antonio and Fort Worth, and we had so much fun.

Over the two weeks of traveling, we had a few small mishaps. Our refrigerator stopped working, we overflowed the toilet, part of the leveling system stopped working, and Wayne hit a dump truck at a gas station.

It didn’t hurt the dump truck, but it put a couple of scratches on our RV. We didn’t let any of those mishaps ruin our trip; it’s part of the journey of traveling in an RV.

When we pulled into our driveway after two weeks of traveling, Wayne and I remarked that our RV was limping in. It had been through a lot over the two weeks we were gone.

I couldn’t help but think that is how I feel at times. I’ve lived enough life that I’ve had some bumps and bruises along the way. At times I feel like I have a slight limp. There’s no doubt life can be hard.

This summer was difficult for our family as our granddaughter was born at 31 weeks, and she spent 47 days in the NICU. At times we were all weary.

The last two years of living through a pandemic has taken a toll on all of us. We are weary from this horrible virus.

My guess is that some of you reading this right now are weary. None of us are exempt from pain in this life.

But here is what I KNOW. We might get weary, but there is HOPE; Jesus says come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28)

Today, let me encourage you to hold on and know that you don’t walk this journey alone.

I recently heard this song, Weary Traveler, and it describes perfectly how I feel at times but it also reminds me that I’m not alone and heaven is my real home.

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to stop by my blog. I’m also on FacebookPinterest, and Instagram.

Let your beauty shine from the inside out today!

  1. Thank you for this wonderful message Cindi.
Jesus is the only answer for our hurting world.
You have said it beautifully and touched many. Thank you.

  2. Thank you for sharing this beautiful song and inspirational message. I keep telling my adult children that have difficult days…sometimes you just have to keep moving down the road. 😉 Eventually, everything smooths out. We are all travelers on the road and need to help each other. Thanks for being that “helper”. 🙌🏻

  3. Thank you for sharing the song “Weary Traveler”. I don’t recall hearing it before, but it describes how I feel which is so, so weary. I needed to be reminded I am not alone and one day – it will all be worth it. God bless you.

  4. I needed this post my husband got lung cancer ( does not smoke) during COVID and had part of his lung remove. We have been thru a lot praying keeps me grounded and gives us hope.

  5. Hi Cyndi,

LOVE your blog and how you use it as a platform to share the gospel ❤️✝️ I have two questions for you: I’m looking for a good “weekender” bag, do you have any recommendations? Also, I’m looking for some cool weather church outfits. I live in Wisconsin so I need cute but also warm! Lol

    Thank you so much ☺️

  6. Thank you Cyndi. I am weary and so tired of living in this pandemic. Sometimes I feel so many are moving forward so much faster and easier than I am. Thank you for sharing and being real. I remember those days with our premie granddaughter born 34 weeks and the family toil it takes. God is our HOPE here on earth. Have a good day. Sorry for all your RV troubles. Yes, part of RVing.

  7. Thank you for your encouragement!! I know we are all weary, me as well. So many loved ones lost, even lost our sweet Holly, our loved Maltese. So much news that doesn’t make a bit of sense, no reasoning behind it for God created intelligent men and women. Thank you for being a light in a dark world reminding us this place is not our home. Thank you Jesus for providing the sacrifice to make a way for us. God is good even when we don’t always see Him working behind the scene. Blessings to you and your sweet family!!

  8. Thanks for sharing your bumps on your travels. We live in an over 55 community and it seems everyone is getting an RV of some type and hitting the road. I don’t think it would be something I would enjoy but I will never say never.

  9. Thank you for that message this morning. I know it’s something I needed to hear right now and I’m sure many others do too!

    1. Really enjoyed this post and can
relate to having RV mishaps. It just makes the journey more interesting and memorable.😉
2020/21 has been a trying time for most people and your encouragement goes a long way in pushing through the dark times.
      Thank you.

  10. I love your weekly posts but I do look forward to your Sunday Share! Good for you and Wayne for not allowing a few bumps in the road to take away from an enjoyable trip…that by nature can be hard!
I’m so thankful for Gods strength during our weary times❤️

  11. Thank you again for your words today. I needed this today to remind me that through him all things Are possible but in His time. God bless you for His words.

  12. Cyndi, Thank you for this reminder! Aren’t we blessed to not have to face life’s trying times alone! Peace be with you.

  13. Thank you so much for this post. It really hit home with me as our family is weary with ongoing mental and now physical issues an adult child is going through. It’s been really tough, with a long road ahead but with God as our center, we know we
are not alone. hope your granddaughter is thriving– Grandkids are truly God’s blessings.

  14. Thank you so much Cyndi. I really enjoyed listening to and needed to hear that song and SEE those lyrics.
I’m pretty weary right now, after going thru the last ten months of a divorce after 39 year s of marriage. I’m weary, but I will not give up on the Lord. He is with me every step of the way and I know he has a plan in place that I cannot yet see!
Thank you for sharing and for the words of encouragement!

  15. Cyndi,

So true, so many things can get us down and feel like the weight of the world is on our shoulders, but God is in control and will never leave or forsake us. He is always ready to lift us up, if we let Him. Thank you for being honest and sharing your mishaps! Have a blessed Sunday!

  16. Happy Sunday! Thank you for talking about real life. It happens , feeling weary and tired but Jesus always brings us up!

  17. Encouraging post. I am sitting in my living room waiting for my husband so that we can go to church. This was a nice devotional, pre-church. He Reigns! Happy Sunday

  18. Cyndi, I usually don’t even read your Sunday post. Today I did. It was so meaningful to me, as a nurse. We are still having a difficult time caring for covid 19 patients; it’s NOT over. We need prayers as we continue to fight a difficult battle. We are weary. We needed this song. Blessings to you.

    1. Elaine……Thank you for what you do. I can’t imagine all you’ve gone through and seen as a nurse working during Covid. We all can’t thank the healthcare enough.

  19. What a beautiful message on this Sunday morning! That is great you and Wayne didn’t let a few problems take away from the blessings or challenges life here on earth presents. Way to go!
    Happy Sunday!
