We have had such a busy few days and on top of that before we left for Cuba, the tragedy happened in Dallas.
As I was thinking of scripture, this is one of the scriptures that came to my mind.
Sometimes the things in this world can wear us down. Our country is struggling.
Anyone feeling a little weary? Anyone have a burden? Do you need rest?
Scripture reminds us that there is someone who we can give our burdens to. Someone who can help us if we are weary today. He can give us rest.
His name is Jesus and he says, Come to me.
If you’re feeling weary and burdened this song is a good reminder that we are loved!

Thanks as usual for all these supportive comments. My son is a police officer in a Dallas suburb. His wife is expecting their first child (my first grandchild) in less than two months. I have been weepy around the edges ever since Thursday night. It’s a hard time.
The Dallas police officers, their families and the entire Dallas community have been on my heart. I live in Minneapolis and we are struggling here too. Please know we are lifting you up in prayer and praying that peace will come to this country.
I just love your every day scriptures. I’just struggle a lot every day and a lot of what you say relates to me or my day. Thank you so very much.
I live in Boise, ID and trust me what happened in Dallas impacts American’s all over this great country. It breaks my heart to see the the racial conflicts taking place, it seems that we are going backwards in terms of acceptance. There are so many disturbed people out there and I’m sure the young man in Dallas thought he was representing the black population and thought what he did was heroic. I pray for his family as well as all those friends and families who lost their loved ones in this tragedy. It’s hard to believe after something this horrific happens but we are still so fortunate to live in America, let’s band together in prayer and lift up our country and it’s people. Skin color is not a choice, we are all precious human beings.

Thank you for noticing, Cyndi. I live in Dallas and, although not directly affected by the tragedy, there is an overwhelming sadness that just lives in the air right now. We sat on pins and needles that night watching the events unfold and waiting for word that our officer friend was okay. We are in an informational bubble and have heard very little about how the rest of the country feels about the tragedy. It feels like a tragedy to us and it is so comforting that it feels the same to others outside of the bubble. The community as a whole is trying to choose love. At the prayer service one of the ministers asked the public to notice each other and tell complete strangers they are loved and so many of our citizens have responded in kind to the officers. Thank you again, just for noticing.
Jana, I live in GA and we are mourning with y’all! Our media is doing a great job of keeping us informed about the events in Dallas. We are praying for the families directly impacted, as well as the community. This tragedy could have happened in Atlanta, just as easily.

Jana, please don’t feel that the rest of the country is unaware or untouched by your tragedy in Dsllas. It is our – America’s – tragedy and we are hurting for/with you. May God comfort as only He can and heal our land.
It seems on every side we hear of such evil. Just yesterday about 15 miles from where I live in Kentucky, human traffickers tried to take a 16-year-old boy as he was working at his parents’ store and taking out trash to the dumpster out back.
We must all turn to God and pray for one another.

Weary doesn’t even begin to describe it. I’m a Tru Libra…I typically weigh everything and try for bskance. I don’t even turn on the TV anymore and walk out of the room when my husband gets on his political discussion. I don’t really disagree with him but I just don’t want it in my face always…yes, I’m beyond weary!
