But God Changes Everything

Happy Sunday friends! I’ve recently had two words on my mind….But God. I love those two words because they change everything.

But God Changes Everything

Did you know the word BUT negates or cancels everything that goes before it? It’s a signal that the significant part of the sentence is coming up.

Let me give you an example.

You handled that wonderfully…but I wish you would have let me handle it.

I love you…but you hurt me.

You look good…but I wish you would wear another dress.

See the But cancels the first part of each sentence. While that’s not a positive way to use the word when you use the word But with God, it changes everything!

You hurt me….But God!

I’m broken….But God!

I feel hopeless….But God!

I feel so unworthy…But God!

My heart is anxious….But God!

Do you see how God changes EVERYTHING?

  • You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. Genesis 50:20
  • My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26
  • Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible. Matthew 19:26
  • For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23

I don’t know what you’re going through today but add God to it, and I promise it will change your whole attitude.

Occasionally weep deeply over the life you hoped would be. Grieve the losses. Then wash your face. Trust God and embrace the life you have. -John Piper

No matter what, know that God loves you. You are His treasure!

Have a blessed Sunday!
