Where Do We Find Peace?

If you listen to the news at all, you know our world is lacking peace. Not only is our world lacking peace, but many of our homes are lacking peace. So where do we find peace?

My Mom’s favorite verse was John 14:27. When things in our family life would get difficult, my Mom would always remind us of this verse. Christ has given us peace.

When this world seems like it’s spinning out of control, Christ says I will give you peace.

Here are some other scripture verses that remind us to cling to peace.

  • “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
  • “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
  • “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.” Isaiah 26:3
  • “When a man’s ways please the LORD, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.” Proverbs 16:7

I don’t know what you’re struggling with today, but Christ wants to give you peace! Peace in your heart, peace in your marriage, peace with your children, peace in your home.

This video made me cry. Satan tries so hard to steal our joy, to make us feel unworthy but He is a liar.

  1. Wow! I needed that today!
I’m sitting here at my desk crying. We are looking at having to close my kids’ school and I just don’t know where to send them that they’ll be as loved and accepted! Joshua 1:9 tells me I’m not alone, but man does Satan tell me there is no hope.
    Thanks Cindy.

    1. Be assured that God has plans for your family. They are not new plans, but the same plan He has always had for you. My beautiful Christian school just closed last year, and I coincidentally retired from teaching. My families have all found new schools to flourish in, and more so, the hand of God is reaching into new communities because of the closure. God wants to use you!

  2. What a powerful video….thank you so much not only for your beautiful fashion ideas but also for your faith filled posts and the scripture to remind us all that outside beauty is so important here but God sees the whole picture!

  3. I needed this. I need peace and satan knows it and keeps attacking. But he is a liar!!!! No more fear! Jesus wins. Thank you for reminding us and quoting those scriptures and sharing this wonderful video!

  4. The verse and the picture of roses was just what I needed this morning. My Father passed away and today we will have his funeral. I was his care giver for several years and I feel the emptiness in my heart today. That was comforting to me. I set it as my background on my computer. He is so good and gives me just what I need at the right time!!!! I am so thankful for his faithfulness to me.

  5. Absolutely love that song mainly because I constantly need the reminder!! I loved it so much that I bought (downloaded) his entire album and the whole thing is awesome! In the season we are walking in, the scriptures about peace are always on my quick list! Peace and being still… thankful for the devo and verses and song!

  6. Cyndi, PEACE is one of those words I always write in all caps. My childhood home was not always peaceful! I thank God everyday that our home is peaceful! PEACE is my greatest gift from God. Because of Jesus I have eternal PEACE! Thank you for this beautiful reminder 🙏

meditate to our Lord and give “it’ all to Him!!!
    Have a blessed evening!!

  9. Amen, Cyndi! I tell my kids that when they are facing difficult times and tough decisions to use that gage of peace in their hearts. Fear is a LIAR!!

  13. So true. I have been restless since my Mother died just before Christmas. Recently faced with a life-changing opportunity that had several pros and a few cons, I prayed for God to show me where he wanted me. Last week, I received my answer in an unexpected way and am now at peace.

  14. Amen, Cindi. Praise God! Through Jesus we have perfect love that casts out fear. I’m so thankful for the love of Jesus!

  17. Thank you for sharing such beautiful and re assuring verses… my husband reminded me today we can’t worry about what we can’t control so leave it with the lord he controls it all and through him we will have peace.

  18. I love that song. Satan so wants to deceive and will lie to us to do it. God has overcome Satan and his lies! God loves us and as the Bible says gives us peace. Thanks for this reminder.
