Fall Wardrobe Essentials 2020

Happy Monday, ladies! Last year I shared this early fall wardrobe essential posts, and it was one of my most popular posts. I love wearing a cami, cardigan, jeans, and a sneaker or pair of flats.

This time of year, I start thinking about transitional pieces. Transitional pieces are clothes I can wear in late summer or early fall. I love light cardigans this time of year. I wear them indoors all the time.

Here are some great inexpensive cardigan options:

Leith Cardigan (I’m wearing an XS)//Camisole (similar option here)//AG Jeans (I’m wearing a size 28)//Sneakers (sold out)//Handbag (sold out)//Pearl Necklace//Earrings//Leopard Belt

Some of you have probably heard the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale starts this month. I am heading to Nordstrom tomorrow to see all the items in person.

This year they have scaled back some, and they’re sticking to a lot of the basics. I’m happy about it, and I plan on stocking up on some things I need to replace.

Here some of my fall wardrobe essential picks from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.

Booties and Flats:

Booties are still a popular option for fall 2020, and mules are a popular flat. I also see knee-high boots being very on-trend.

( I have these Marc Fisher booties in the brown color, you can see them here, but I’m thinking about getting the cloud suede color. These booties work great with crop style jeans.)

Denim:

I wear jeans all the time in fall and winter, so I love to have different styles and brands. AG is my favorite brand, and I always pick up a pair during the #NSALE

Sweaters and Cardigans:

More items from the #NSALE that I want to check out:

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to stop by my blog. I’m also on FacebookPinterest, and Instagram.

Beauty For the Heart~~ With fall weather right around the corner, I’m reminded of how even the seasons changing are all in God’s perfect plan. I’m so thankful for a God who thought every detail when he created the world.

He is a God of details, and He cares about every detail of our lives too. There’s nothing that happens to us that is a surprise to God. God knows, and He cares.

He changes times and seasons; he removes kings and sets up kings; he gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding; Daniel 2:21

Have a blessed day!

  1. Thank you for your inspirations and for always including a Bible verse. This one was especially appropriate for our world today. God bless you for blazing a “Christian” trail.

  2. I’ve started fall shopping too. Hit Dillards last week and bought several end of summer items that will go right into fall. 40% of the already reduced 50-65% price. Another unlikely shopping experience was at
Crack Barrel waiting for our table. Picked up three sweaters totaling $36 when each one had been marked $39. Total score and all in soft grey with some pink. Texas is still HOT but mornings are a bit more cool than usual. God has been especially good to us this summer in Central Texas.

  3. Cyndi,
Where do you shop at an actual Nordstrom store? Kentucky girl and the closest one I thought was in Cincinnati.

  4. I have never tried the Cameron coffee. Always looking for a good pod and I like the No plastic. Which roast do you ge?. I like the Green Mountain one you recommended awhile back, so know I’d like the roast you buy in this brand too. Thanks. I have always loved the post picture you have from last year. I just love the look of the pink cardigan and the sneakers. I just can’t wear that long of a cardigan with my short height. It over powers me. I need to measure my ones that do work for me and try to get that length. Looking forward to what you share from the Nordstom NSale.

  5. I love cardigans and cool crisp air however in the deep south……that will not come until late October or so. I do start to transition in late Aug. or Sept. to more “fall like” colors that are sleeveless.

    Have a great week!

BTW I ordered two tops from EXPRESS (one you featured…..brown leopard print) and I love them. They were very good quality.

  6. It is always (searching for right word)When we are in triple digit temps and heartbreaking fires, others are even thinking about sweaters coats and booties.it really brings to mind just how vast our cou try is.God is wonderful.

  7. Well it’s been so hot here to even think about fall, but I know it will be eventually coming! I am definitely thinking about the basics and transitional pieces . Still not sure what’s ahead for the fall/winter ( no church services or women’s bible studies etc) so no need for a whole lot. Will probably focus on stylish loungewear especially working from home. Enjoy the sale I can’t wait to see what you get:)

  8. I’m so glad to see jeans that are not distressed and have sewn hemlines. It looks so much better. Love the feminine cami, too. I’d say that is an essential piece along with the AG Jeans. Love those sneakers!!

    1. I agree, Theresa! I never liked the distressed jeans, nor the ragged hems. Why would anyone choose to wear tattered jeans? I’m so happy this look is disappearing. Give me a dark wash, whether it be indigo, black or grey.

Looking forward to the complete Fall Trend post, Cyndi.

  9. That is my favorite coffee and the only kind I will use in my keurig. I used to get Joes brand but can’t get it anymore. It was made similar without plastic k cups.
I enjoy your blog and fashion ideas and heart for Jesus. I rarely comment but read almost daily.
