Don’t Forget to Live Life!

Happy Sunday, ladies! I am headed to church in a few minutes, and these days I’m so thankful to be able to go to church. We wear our masks, and we have to sit in certain areas, but I’m still grateful.

There is a lot going on in our world right now. If we’re not careful, we can get caught up in all that is wrong and forget all the good. Amid everything, don’t forget to live life!

Jesus reminds us in John 10:10, I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. We have to remember that God is still in control, and none of this has caught him off guard.

Max Lucado is one of my favorite authors. His books are easy reads, and sometimes I like simple and to the point.

One of my favorites is called, In The Eye of The Storm; A Day In The Life Of Jesus.

Max Lucado made a list of how we should live our life. Since our lives are very different right now, this list is a good reminder.

  • Love God more than you fear hell.
  • Once a week, let a child take you on a walk.
  • Make major decisions in a cemetery.
  • When no one is watching, live as if someone is.
  • Succeed at home first.
  • Don’t spend tomorrow’s money today.
  • Pray twice as much as you fret.
  • Listen twice as much as you speak.
  • Only harbor a grudge when God does.
  • Never outgrow your love of sunsets.
  • Treat people like angels; you will meet some and help make some.
  • ‘Tis wiser to err on the side of generosity than on the side of scrutiny.
  • God has forgiven you; you’d be wise to do the same.
  • When you can’t trace God’s hand, trust His heart.
  • Toot your own horn, and the notes will be flat.
  • Don’t feel guilty for God’s goodness.
  • The book of life is lived in chapters, so know your page number.
  • Never let the important be the victim of the trivial.
  • Live your liturgy.

I would add, even amid a pandemic, don’t forget to live life. We can be safe and smart but still enjoy life!

This song reminded me of my Mom because I can’t tell you the times she told me to speak His name. When you’re hurt, when your scared, feeling anxious, speak the name of Jesus.

  1. Your blog was such a blessing to me today, Cindi. “I Speak Jesus” is the very song that I needed to hear this morning. You’re the best!!

  2. As always you touched my heart. My sweet mama gained her heavenly reward in October. It will be 11 years. Maybe the same year as your mama. My daddy passed in October-fall is my favorite season-I often wonder if God had those dates to make my life more bearable on those dates. We just never know what the Great I AM has in store for our beautiful lives…may we glorify him always!

  3. This is a very anointed song. We have sung this song as part of our worship set list in church. It brings such peace. Thank you for always sharing Jesus on your website. Blessings upon you.

  4. Thanks Cyndi..I really appreciate your emails..you give my spirits a lift just like Jesus.🙏💜🌟🍁🌿

  7. Cindy,
You are so blessed to have had a wonderful Mom who taught you how to apply the name of Jesus in all circumstances. Life can be so distracting & overwhelming, especially these days . Thank you for sharing this blessing to remind us how powerful it is to remember to call out & speak the name of Jesus.

  8. Thanks Cyndi. I needed to hear this but struggle how to live life in this. I’m afraid to catch the virus. People don’t seem to take it serious, and just seem to hang with anyone etc etc. I know people who have battled covid, one almost didn’t make it snd still struggling. Just found out my hairdresser and her husband have it. Sad. Thankful I was exposed. I miss church sooo much but don’t even feel safe going with a mask as our building is small. Thankful for online messages but not the same. Miss community. My husband and I have spent a lot of time together going on drives and finding many new places we haven’t seen. Hiking too, but we miss friends. We see our kids snd two grand kids snd thankful for that. Wish I could feel more at peace to move more forward. This could go on along time.

  9. Love this….the list as well as the reminder to live life. I am doing my best but I will admit that a lot of days I just want to jump ahead to when this is all completely over and behind us. Im often catching myself to not wish away the days and sometimes the thought comes to me of my parents last days and how each day they were still here was so precious to me. It’s an ongoing conversation inside my own head.

    1. Thank you for sharing this song. Paralleled our message so well today. Not a coincidence. God bless you!

  10. Thank you so much. Your post came at a time when I was so down. Today would have been my husbands 60th birthday. This comes at the end of a month that held my birthday, our anniversary and marked 6 months since he died. I’ve been holding it together but completely fell apart this weekend. Today as I was crying yet again, I listened to this song and just started saying His name over and over and over and I felt a peace settle over me and His presence all around me, beside me, before me, within me. Thanking you for your words and God’s timing. Hugs!

  11. New song to me, so, so, beautiful and a great reminder to speak his name for comfort. Love to see your Sunday posts.
