Questions & Answers – January 2021

Happy Friday, ladies! I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for the weekend. It’s been a busy first week of January, and I’m still trying to get organized.

I did a Questions & Answers post in December. Several questions were asked in the comment section of that post, and I wanted to get them answered.

Here are some of the questions that were asked:

1. What color lip liner do you wear…and when you go to your gym, do you wear makeup?

I wear Maybelline Color Sensational Shaping Lip Liner in Dusty Rose, and I wear Maybelline Warm Me Up #235 Lip Color.

Yes, I put some foundation and concealer on before I go work out, but that’s it.

2. Do you use an eyebrow pencil? If so, which do you recommend?

Several years ago, I had microblading done to my eyebrows. I wrote about that procedure HERE.

It helped my eyebrows, and I have them touched up once a year. I’m overdue because of Covid, but I’m finally having them touched up next week.

I use Beautycounter Eyebrow Pencil in dark, and I put the Brilliant Brow Gel in clear finish over the top.

3. I would love to know more about your hair extensions. Are you loving your hair this length? Is it easy to care for? I am considering getting extensions!

I’ve had extensions for over 2 years. I’ve used several different kinds of extensions, and it’s been a learning process.

When I first had them put in, my hair was short, and we had to put a full set of extensions in my hair.

In the 2 years that I’ve had them, my hair has grown, and now I only have 2 weft extensions in my hair to add fullness. Without the extensions, my hair would be a little too thin at this length.

They are not hard to care for, but you have to have them moved up every 4 to 5 weeks.

4. Do you drink coffee during your fasting? Black or with cream?

Yes! I drink coffee when I’m fasting. I can’t go without my morning coffee! I drink it black, but I know some people that do intermittent fasting add cream.

5. Where do you apply the Colleen Rothschild eye serum? Just under your eyes or eyelids too? Can you recommend something for eyelids to get rid of crepey skin?

I use the eye serum morning and night. I only put the eye serum under my eyes. It would not work under eyeshadow because it’s so creamy.

I use it in the morning because Tarte Shape Tape is drying, and it works great with this concealer.

If you’re looking for help with eyelids, Angie at Hot & Flashy has lots of great tips!

6. How do you know what’s really working when using so many different products?? Do you feel it’s necessary for so many different products, or can skin care be more simplified? I feel like I have a little of this and a little of that, and I’m not sure what’s working??

I do wonder what’s really working (See what I’m using HERE)! I’m also taking this liquid collagen, and I feel like it has helped my skin too. I think my skincare is pretty simplified. Haha!

Bottom line, I think you should use what you’re comfortable with using and purchasing. We all have different skin needs, and when you find something you like and you feel works, then use it.

Someone mentioned that genetics make a difference, and that’s probably true. I’m also a firm believer that what we put in our bodies, exercise, water, etc., has a lot to do with our outer appearance.

7. What Bible do you use?

I love using the Life Application Bible. You can get it in whatever version you prefer. I got this one in the New Living Translation for Christmas, and I love it.

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to stop by my blog. I’m also on FacebookPinterest, and Instagram.

  1. Cyndi,
This is a hard and sad time for our country. It is encouraging to know there are other Christ following, Spirit filled women around our country trying to be the love and joy of Jesus to neighbors and coworkers and friends. I needed to hear that today. Blessings to you!

  2. Hi Cyndi! I’m ready for the weekend too, but we are expecting 5″ of snow. I was wondering why you use a brow pencil if you had microblading done? I considered having that done, but not if I have to use a pencil too. My morning routine is pretty short and simple, but the brows take the most time of all. Thanks for all of your tips. Have a blessed weekend.

  3. Cyndi,
Thank you for sharing your study Bible with us! I’m not ordering it today, but I believe I will in the future. It looks amazing!
I also appreciate your Godly wisdom in these uncertain times.
    God Bless You!

  4. Cyndi,

I love your blog and look forward to your post everyday. Yous relationship with Jesus is an inspiration to us all. Thank you for sharing and for everything you do. Keep it up.

    Sincerely,

  5. I love your Q & A blog posts. This time I was glad to find out what lip liner you use since I use the Warm Me UP lip stick and love it I’ve wondered what lip liner to add to it.

I have the same bible you have and love it. Learn so much from the foot notes.

    Blessings,

  6. Hi Cyndi

I would love to hear how you manage your time. Do you read your Bible early in the morning before the rest of the house wakes up and do you go to gym early to get it out of the way and then start work or do you exercise in the afternoons? I know us ladies can multitask but sometimes it can be quite overwhelming! And we want to look pretty too! LOL

  7. I do IF, and from what I understand one can only drink plain water, tea (no flavoring, no cream, no sugar), black coffee (no flavoring, no cream, no sugar.) Anything else will cause your body to start producing insulin and that stops the fasting state. I wish I liked black coffee!
Love your questions and answers. I find out answers to so many questions.
Thank you for your information about Collagen for Her. I have been using a spoonful when I break my fast in my coffee (with cream), and it is really helping, I think. My hair feels smoother, and my face does as well.
Thank you for your posts. I enjoy taking a break from work and the world.

  8. Thanks for not doing the news. I have unsubscribed from a few who did or are. Our TV and radio’s have been off since April. This is in God’s hands.
I enjoy your Q&A posts. Thank you!

  9. Good questions and good answers. I too had the how do you know if it’s working question. Thanks for NOT dong political comments – we love your fashion and spiritual comments., Political comments for some reason have just become too divisive in our country.

    1. Would you mind sharing how I can find the lasagna recipe you posted in a weekly summary post before Christmas? I need to make one for a gathering next week and remember you had an easy recipe! Thanks

  10. I would love to talk with you for 5-10 minutes about hair extensions and lash extensions. I need your advice and knowledge. Thanks, amy

  11. Love your Q & A’s, thx for answering all of the questions 😉. I too, appreciate your blog and that it’s not filled with political content. It’s a nice escape and fun for us women. Let’s be a light for Jesus! Thank you for sharing truth so boldly!

  12. Thanks for Q &A. Did you know that Jo-Lynne had same reply problem and her husband figured it out? You might talk to her about yours.

  13. Thank you for staying true with your content. I don’t need any extra “news”! Especially when IG is my downtime escape.

    1. I really appreciate your blog! I have never been very fashion savvy and I love seeing what is on trend, whether I’m brave enough to wear it or not. I also really appreciate that you are not ashamed to talk about your faith, our true source of beauty! You are using your platform to make a difference every single day! Thank you!!
