Questions &. Answers – March 2024

It has been a while since I last shared a Questions & Answers post, so today, I wanted to share some of the frequently asked questions I receive. It’s nice to have them all compiled in one post for easy reference when needed.

Questions & Answers – March 2024

1. You wear several silver and gold bracelets all the time. Where did you purchase them?

My bracelets are from Daily Gold. I have some that I don’t wear every day, but I have these:

Ashlee
Kay
Statement Kay
Lily cuff
Asa
Statement Ashlee
Cyndi
Amanda

2. How many days do you work out?

I strength train three days a week at a gym. I’m a VIP member with Faster Way to Fat Loss, so I use their workouts, too. If the weather permits, I get outside and walk. My Oura Ring keeps track of my steps, and I try to get 12,000 steps or more every day. My goal is to move my body as much as possible every day!

3. Do you still intermittent fast, and what do you eat on a typical day?

Yes! I’m a huge believer in intermittent fasting. I also think fasting for more extended periods can be beneficial. I love this book about how fasting affects our bodies.

On a good day, I eat a lot of protein, so I’m always looking for protein-rich food. I love Greek yogurt, blueberries, hemp seeds, tuna, bone broth, avocados, nuts, and eggs. For dinner, we typically eat meat with a vegetable. I keep it simple!

4. You mentioned on Instagram that you are using hormone replacement. What are you taking, and can you tell a difference?

I went through menopause in my middle to late forties, which is on the earlier side. At that time, I decided not to use hormone replacement therapy.

In the last few years, there has been a lot of research on the importance of HRT during perimenopause and menopause. Dr. Mary Claire is one of the doctors who is sharing a lot of information.

Last year, I was having a lot of brain fog, and I also felt a lack of energy. I was exercising, eating healthy, and getting enough sleep, but I still had these symptoms.

Several friends mentioned a nurse practitioner helping women with their hormone levels in my area. She uses bioidentical hormones, and I decided to meet with her and see if she could help. We did blood work and came up with a treatment plan for me.

There are different ways to take hormones, and she gave me several options. I went with pellet therapy (estrogen and testosterone), and I take a progesterone pill ( I have to take that because I still have my uterus.)

I have noticed a huge change in how I feel, and it has started to help with my brain fog. I’m early in the therapy, and I think it will get better the longer I take it.

If you have any questions about what I’m doing, I’m happy to answer them. We each have to make our own decisions, and I don’t think it’s always easy. Just FYI, I’m not a doctor or an expert, and I highly recommend following Dr. Mary Claire.

5. Have you found any good creams for crepe skin?

I have not found anything that works miracles. Our skin definitely changes as we age. I work my arms hard with weights, and I still have some crepe skin on my arms. If anyone has found a miracle product, please let us know!

6. What brand of multivitamins do you take?

I take several supplements every day. I take AG1 Greens, which includes a multivitamin, and I add a scoop of Thorne creatine to the AG1 and some Re-lyte to help the taste. I also take vitamin B12, vitamin D+K, Magnesium, Tumeric, and Omega 3.

7. What’s your favorite foundation?

I love the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. I’ve used it for several years, and I love the medium lightweight buildable coverage.

8. Why did you decide to move?

Good question! We loved our last house and could have stayed there. Throughout our marriage, Wayne has said he would love to have a pond on our property. He grew up on a farm with a pond (we own his parent’s farm where he grew up, which is about an hour from where we live).

About a year before we moved, I started looking for homes with a pond. I didn’t tell Wayne I was looking, and I didn’t think I would ever find one. Early in 2023 a home come through my inbox that had a pond.

I told Wayne, and we decided to look at it and rest is history! We have 5 acres and we have a stocked pond. We have already created so many sweet memories here, and I’m so thankful to be settled and enjoying our new home.

Thank you for stopping by my blog. I’m also on FacebookPinterest, and Instagram.

Beauty For the Heart®Beloved, although I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints. Jude 1:3

Truth: Sometimes, I will hear a word in Scripture, dig a little deeper, and see how it’s used and what it means. I recently heard someone talking about “contend.” It’s a word that means to fight (not physically fight but knowing what you believe and sharing it) or stand firm in what you believe.

To contend for our faith in Scripture, we have to know God’s word, and we have to defend it. We cannot live victoriously if our faith remains halfhearted. Scripture tells us to stand firm (Ephesians 6:11). When we stand firm and grounded in the gospel, we don’t have to fear the future; God is with us.

Let your beauty shine from the inside out today!

  1. Hi Cyndi,

Thanks for all your posts – I enjoy looking through all of them. My question (if you don’t mind) is, how tall are you? I love many of your outfits, but I’m a petite 5’1” gal and often wonder if some of them would work for me (for example, maxi dresses). Thanks in advance! Have a great week.

    Anne

  2. I use the Estradiol creme instead of HRT pills which I used to for10 years. That helps with alot of menopausal issues too which one lovely side effect is help with those urges to run to restroom so often. I drink alot of water in Pure Strength Class. Also for anyone that watches Hot & Flashy , she recommended Alpha hydroyl creme for helping with crepey skin about a year ago. At the time I was doing water aerobics and needed something to help against drying effects. It works pretty well at helping, not 100 percent but helps! Cyndi, I use the Gold Bond neck and chest firming creme on my arms, ha! Hoping that firms the rest of the unfirm skin up too.

  3. Hello. Could you send me the name of the NP that prescribed you the HRT pellets, please? I live close enough to Lexington that I would travel.
    Thank you!!❤️

  4. can you share the name brand of vitamin B12, vitamin D+K, Magnesium, Tumeric, and Omega 3 that you take.

    Thanks!

  5. Nothing warms my heart more than hearing women helping other women! Thank you for sharing, and for the sharing in these comments. I agree that menopause can be a lonely journey, and some doctors can be dismissive. I’ve been fasting and love the book by Gin Stephens, Fast, Fast, Repeat. It’s the only way I’ve been able to lose weight. Blessings to you!

  6. Hi Cyndi,
I am going through some menopausal joint issues that have been going on for over 10 years and was also told that I didn’t need HRT. I too went through menopause in my mid 40s. After listening to Dr. Mary Claire and others, I am realizing that my joint issues may be a result of lack of hormones. This arthritis subsequently resulted in 2 bone on bone hip replacements and was told by the orthopedic surgeon that all of the arthritis is genetic. Hopefully I can prevent more joint problems with bioidentical hormones. All that to say, I live in No KY and would be willing to drive to Lexington if I am not able to find a menopause hormone practitioner here. Would you be able to refer your NP to me?

    Thank you,
    Susie Klein

  7. I loved this post, very interesting. Can you please tell me the wall color behind you and Wayne? I am wanting to update the color in family room and that looks like what I have in mind. Thank you!

  8. I love to see you have posted about menopause. I feel that subject doesn’t get enough attention and what the reality of dealing with it can look like for many women. Some women have very minor symptoms whereas others, like me, have a very tough time with them. All the symptoms and with a vengeance. I felt I had totally lost myself. I had ALWAYS had endless energy, exercised, was able to keep excess weight down, remembered everything and had thoughts clear as a bell until menopause. Not to mention the mental toll it took on me.
I’ve been using the pellet and progesterone at night for a little over a year now and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel now. It has worked great for me. I also do intermittent fasting and totally agree Fast Like A Girl is a wonderful resource for those women who want to learn more about fasting and its benefits.
Thank you for your great posts and always being an encouragement!

  9. Loved this post! I started using Georgia Armani foundation last year at your recommendation and love it! Have you ever done a post on your aura ring? I’m curious what the differences are between that and an Apple Watch.

    1. I haven’t done a post on it but that’s not a bad idea. The ring for me is easier to wear and you sleep with it on so it gives you all your sleep data. I never slept with my Apple watch on.

  10. Hello Cyndi,

I LOVE your hair! Will you share the color and what extensions you like?
I remember you used to use them, don’t know if you stil do. What brand were they and were they the clip in type?

Also, what nail polish color do you wear?

Thank you for all you do in helping women look and feel their best.

    Suzanne

    1. Thank you!
I have my nails done, and they’re the SNS nails, and I use white.

I do still have a couple of extensions in but I don’t know the brand my stylist uses. They are not clip in, they’re beaded wefts so they never come out and I hardly know they’re in my hair.

I know she uses a 5 color on my hair but I’m also not sure about the brand.

  11. Just love your blog. You are truly an inspiration and love how you share your faith. I also enjoy all your Facebook posts.

  12. You are beautiful inside and out! I try to move my body as much as possible! I struggle because I work from home full time and it doesn’t allow for me to leave my desk much throughout the day. We definitely have to be intentional about our health. I have not held to fasting lately and due to some life circumstances, have not been able to move as much and I feel so terrible! This post reminded me of my goals and so as the weather improves, I will move my body more! Do you weigh yourself or not. I know in FWTL they do not recommend it but that is how I hold myself accountable. Just wondering your thoughts.

    1. Thank you Julie. Yes I do weigh myself, it’s hard to get out of that habit. I don’t weigh everyday but usually around once a week.

  13. Hello Cyndi, fabulous post and beautiful picture with dress! Thank you!

    2 questions

What size bracelets did you get for Daiily Gold bracelets?

Do you have link for gold bracelets and earrings you are wearing with dress in this post?

  14. Very helpful Q & A! Just purchased the fasting book to read and fast more intentionally. Thanks a bunch!

  15. I have a question for you. I’ve been wondering about this because you haven’t mentioned him in so long, but how is your puppy? Gunner I believe you called him. He was so cute and I haven’t seen any pictures of him in such a long time.

Definitely going to check out the book about fasting. Thanks for the info.

    1. Sweet Gunner was adopted by a retired couple in 2021 who fell in love with him and had more time to spend with him. I felt like we left him alone too much but He’s doing great!

  16. Thank you Cyndi!

I’ve just pre-ordered Dr. Mary Claire’s new book and followed her on insta.

    You’re always such an inspiration!

    God bless. xxx

    1. Best thing I did for myself was coming off the combined pill by 51… have been two years now in post menopause! I also started seeing a holistic nutritionist and she gives great guidance by testing as to what my body specifically lacks and what is best to take for me! She also warned me about skipping meals ( which I’m trying to be better with ) during this phase of my life! Also did you know that coffee can be an iron disrupter which means it can block the iron from our foods from being absorbed by our body! I never knew that🤷‍♀️
